"We were looking for a nice meal, after driving up from Nuremberg at night. Tucked away in a residential area, away from the typical tourist spots, the ambiance is quaint and attractive. Service was great. The menu is small, but every appetizer, meal, or dessert we ordered was "lick the plate" good. Had the orange duck entree, goat cheese/salad appetizer and creme brulee. My friend and I agreed this was possibly our meal of the year, and will definitely be a revisit the next time we are in Cologne."

"Centrally located offering a good choice menu at reasonable prices. We had ruml steaks which were excellently cooked with a delicious peppersauce. Our daughter had baked tortellini with cheese. The staff were very courteous and we loved the service. Would definately visit again while in Cologne."

"We had a great dinner here. It wasn't crowded on a Monday night. We had the multi-course special for 30 Euro per person. The wait staff was super nice, and offered to let us try 3 wines before we decided on a bottle. The appetizer...plate was awesome. The food was well prepared and tasty."

"On this sunny Sunday I tried something new in the early afternoon. The Red Ochse is located on the Rhine not far from the Chocolate Museum. A new young kitchen team wants to convince with fresh products. They succeeded. At first we were alone in the restaurant. I think we have a few thoughts. But then new guests came. In the meantime we had ordered. And I have to say that was the most tasty Sauerbread dish for long. The red cabbage hearty, the sour roast with sousse. It's a pleasure. Almond splinters and raisins. Delicious. The service was not only friendly but also professionally interested. We felt good. That wasn't the last visit."
