"The first time we went service was totally first class. They waitress was super attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and they we were good to go. This time the waitress we had was not very attentive at all. She was robotic with no real energy or personality injected into the service she offered. Not at all the 1st class experience that we had the first time. The food was Luke warm, and the original turkey dish, the Turkey was dry and the mashed potatoes, along with the vegetables was also Luke warm. They remade our plates, but the veggies were still not warm. Not at all the experience we had from before. It will be a long while before we attempt to come back."

"A total let down of a $10 smoothie. Ordered a protein smoothie only to discover that not only it is nauseatingly sweet (even with unsweetened Macnut milk , but doesn't actually have any protein (no longer offered as per the girl serving . What it does have is agave syrup (not mentioned on the menu apparently that's in the recipe she's following. It also came with peanut butter (I wasn't asked whether I wanted peanut or almond when ordering and my guess is that peanut butter is sweetened also. The girl serving agreed to remake the smoothie, albeit reluctantly. Still no protein of course, but at least with almond butter and no agave.If you're going to change your menu and ingredients drastically, at least train your employees to mention these things BEFORE ordering and train them to ask which options they'd like (e.g. peanut vs almond butter some people actually have allergies to peanuts, why would anyone make that a default option ?! . Not to mention, change your menu to reflect the reality of what actually is and isn't in the smoothies."

"The salad was good but the bone in pork chop special and the seafood pasta were both lackluster. The strawberry daiquiri was just ordinary and at $12 I expected a lot more. This is not the steakhouse quality we recall from previous visits. Not sure what happened but our favorite part of the meal the salad bar is also gone as of two months ago. Overall, a disappointing dining experience at a place we used to love. This is off our list of Maui restaurant visits."

"My husband had the seafood linguine with squid ink and he like it a lot! I had the ravioli with sage cream sauce. ALL their pasta and sauces are made on site and so yummy! We enjoyed the chocolate mousse cake for dessert! The liliukoi lemonade was very good!!"

"Bev Gannon helped create the modern food scene in the Islands and is still going strong. Haliimaile General Store is a true gem and has been our consistent favorite for the last 15 years. The service is excellent, food delicious, and the setting can’t be beat. Anything we order is top-notch, the wine selection is extensive and their adult beverages are fantastic. Do yourself a favor, leave the beach, go upcountry and enjoy this gen."

"Beautiful pre-fixe dinners which I love because you get a the good things at a great price. Their salads are fresh and delicious. I had the macnut Mahi one night and the rib-eye another. The veggies are so good and the breads they make in house are great. Great place to go for a quiet dinner date with quality food. Only two seating times 6:30 and 7:00 pm. Definitely can become a favorite."

"What a special place near Paia and/or on the way to the road to Hana. You need a reservation here, although it wasn't a house when we stopped on Friday. The hotel is located in a reused general business, this place is full of charm. Make sure to see a back space filled with art from local artists. Always love a place that supports the local art community. Our server Betty was the best in class. She was knowledgeable, passionate and infectious. If you are happy enough to be served by her, you are in good hands! Chef Beverly Gannon deserves all the awards you will see on the walls because their creations are delicious. The menu has some of their dishes they say that you find nowhere else, but we did not try to give you a review. Ask what they are if they tickle your imagination. We had the crab pizza (discovered and delicious), the Paniolo BBQ ribs (wonderful) and the Chopped Chinese Chicken Salad (refreshing and crisp). We really enjoyed everything. We hope to be back to Maui during our next trip."
