"Magic! under a rainy sky, we discovered this beautiful place in the middle of Montauban, following a panel that did not indicate a tea room at the bottom of a courtyard ... when we entered this place, we discovered a building with brick walls of the old Montauban and enchanting decors. at the culinary level, it was a feast for the eyes and taste buds. I didn't have such a hot chocolate like my grandmother's time! The pastry was also to fall. A wonderful moment. discover absolutely !!!"

"This is our second time at Fil de l'Eau in Montauban, the first time being three years ago. The first time, we had a marvelous menu degustation. This time, we chose the 48-euro menu, as we weren't hungry enough for both fish and meat courses. The place is just fantastic. Large, airy, light-filled room, with plenty of space between tables. Excellent service, professional, friendly, correct in every way. Absolutely no long waits. Good advice on wines and aperitifs. After a soup amuse-bouche, starters were asparagus feuilleté with crayfish and foie gras mî-cuit. Mains were pigeon presented beautifully and turbot, both memorable. Three excellent cheeses: St. Nectaire, Comté, and Rocamadour. Desserts the "usual" warm chocolate cake with runny interior, the special aspect here being that the runny part was pistachio cream rather than chocolate. Absolutely delicious. We felt that the entire experience was well worth the not excessively high price. If we lived nearby, we would eat at Fil de l'Eau at least once a month, it's that good. A meal like this in New York or London would cost at least three times as much."

"Les crêpes et galette sont faites d'avance. Donc déjà à la base un manque de métier et de sérieux. Ensuite les ingrédients sont fades pas ou peu cuisinés. On ne s'improvise pas restaurateur juste parce qu'on est sur une place attrape touristes.... je déconseille fortement cette place nationale de toute manière..."

"Nice discovery! Inlet dessert dish 17 euros. Light entrance, thousands of salmon leaves. Original dish with a mixture of flavor. Back of the black crust, Brussels cabbage with maple syrup. A chocolate cake... Very good at noon but catastrophic at night. Tapas and wine too expensive for quantity! Deplorable service!"
