"We met up with our exchange student and her parents who took us to their local restaurant, the D'Albret for lunch on a Sunday. I don't know if we received the standard service or something a bit special as international visitors with a regular local, and I don't care!All I can say is that the food, regional specialties that are certainly not normal fare for Australians, were served with amazing flair and flavour. Exactly the type of French meal we were hoping to experience on our trip.After a local aperitif we were treated to a starter of rabbit stuffed with foix gras, two ingredients I had never tried and now believe I may never taste better versions. More wine was taken during the meal which moved to the second course of a marinated roast duck breast. Once again a new experience and delicious.The meal was finished off with the largest profiterole I have seen, filled with cream and ice cream and smothered in chocolate sauce.I have been lucky enough to travel extensively and try the food in many places and I can not recall having a meal this magnificent in my life.Visit the tiny but beautiful town of Nerac and eat here, it will be worth it!"

"A delightful place to stop for a drink. Cup of tea, or even better the fantastic hot chocolate. Made with real chocolate, not sweet…what it should be. Patisserie treats are made on-site, all rather exquisite and the florentine is just out of this world. Great place to catch up with friends on the terrace…"
