"Got three burgers and chips from West End for family dinner on the recommendation of my daughter who raves about the Carina store.45 bucks later we couldn't eat the buns as they were genuinely stale, the patty was awesomely dry and the chips were cold.Surprisingly poor outcome given the good burgers my daughter got at Carina, but I see that other West End reviewers have had similar experiences, so maybe I have learnt a lesson."

"I've been meaning to detour the market momentarily to visit the roastery.<br>
We arrived on a Saturday morning & was quite surprised we had plenty of room to move (a pram included). The definite highlight was the service. The guy behind the counter was warm / helpful & genuinely warm. It was a lovely way to be welcomed.<br>
The food was a bit underwhelming, certainly not bad. Just a bit above average &with nothing really standing out. I had the Mediterranean (chorizo, mushrooms, tomatoes, holumi & toast) & my friend had the omelette.(chorizo & variety of other extras)<br>
Overall it was pretty alright. If that's not the epitome of fence sitting I don't know what is.<br>
.... But it's that kind of place.<br>
Maybe if I lived nearby I'd visit occasionally, but I am fairly unlikely to go back as it wasn't amazing & there are now soo many options around to try, that it's increasingly only the exceptional places that get a return trip."

"Absolutely stunning food, service and ambiance. Ultra modern Australian food plated like art work with a focus on native Australian ingredients. Chef Josue Lopez is a genius and is recognized as one of the best chefs in Brisbane. We started with the eucalypt fire. I've never had emu before and I thought GOMA was the perfect place to try it. The emu was served 3 ways and the tartare component was a hit. We also got the moreton bay bug and this was one of my favourite dishes of the night. The bug was cooked to perfection and all the elements elevated the dish to new heights. I got the duck for main and it was so unique. Served with various mushroom components and the acidity of the quandong balanced everything. Now onto dessert...The wattleseed custard was served in the G20 summit and received rave reviews and I'm so happy it has been kept on the menu for over 2 years. It was an edible work of art and the inherent coffee/caramel flavours from the wattleseed worked...

"Would just like to give a big thank you to Mario at The Mantra Stone Restaurant and Bar. Mario went over and above the call of duty for after dinner drinks for my mother's 60th birthday celebrations. While an absolute magician at mixing delicious cocktails, it was his attitude and customer service that made our stay at Mantra great. Being a little hard of hearing, I was eagerly awaiting a cheese cake for dessert to be shared between our party. To my dismay, the oldies had infact ordered a cheese platter! Sensing my disappointment, Mario, sprang into action and organised a delicious deconstructed cheese cake from the kitchen. If you are looking for a cold beverage, great cocktail or service with a smile, then be sure to see Mario and the team at Mantra on Southbank."

"Tried the traditional English Fish n chips. Complete garbage batter was still white an soggy inside got indigestion from it, chips are tasteless pre frozen type thrown into fryer, nothing whatsoever traditional about it. $30 rippoff far as I'm concerned."
