"Popped in for a drink today and were watching the euro 2020 football, during the game one of the players needed resuscitation and potentially was dying. Staff were asked by multiple people within the pub to turn down the music out of respect to what was being shown. The landlords response to a group of guys that asked was that everyone had had a tough year and multiple people had died and that the rest of the pub needed the music. Was a completely disrespectful comment and action and showed his priority was only money and not people’s well being. The pub was already full and it would not have impacted the patrons in any way to just show some empathy. Instead he proceeded to argue with the group of boys until they left. In a year where lots of people have suffered to show such little empathy was astounding and completely disrespectful. Such a shame this is no longer a brains pub as their standards would never have allowed someone like that to run a pub, what a horrible human being."

"A great place to grab lunch and a Coffee while you are out and about in Cardiff at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and helpful and they are inline with the current covid regulations, so its safe!. I would recommend the Toasted Panini Cheese and Tomato or Tuna Cheese as it comes with a surprisingly good tasting salad. The Coffee is of a good strength and not bitter, it has a nice froth and presented well with a saucer. Overall it's a great place to have lunch and we will call back again."

"We arrived for afternoon tea in November 2023. The tea selection came out in a wooden box which contained flavoured tea bags ie peppermint, green tea, earl grey and breakfast teabags. We opted for Breakfast Tea. There was one teabag in each pot, when we asked for more tea they just topped it up with hot water, no additional tea bag! It tasted disgusting. We received 4 thin fingered sandwiches and three small cakes plus two welsh cakes and two scones each. It might be a five star hotel but it was definitely not a five star afternoon tea. It costs £34.00 which is not cheap. We will definitely never go back again."
