"This place was great when it first opened years ago! However it is no longer that way. We had the mushroom soups. Entre the arrachera and the churrasco steaks. We ordered steaks medium rare. Both steaks came out super well done. I took a bite obviously and cut open the steak after to check. Totally over cooked to the point it was super chewy and on a side note tasteless. Mine was the arrachera al chimichurri. No chimichurri was anywhere near that steak. I waited to tell a waiter but nobody every came back to our table to ask us how things were going. So I went inside to tell someone and the waiter seemed confused and angry that I was unhappy about the steak as though they had not made a mistake overcooking it. No matter, they eventually said they would make a new one. My new steak arrived approximetly 15-20 mins later. You can watch them grill from our seat right across. They were not making it. Needless to say this steak was not even cooked at all!!! To the point that it was literally going to make me throw up in my mouth. I would have had them cook it more but we had an event to be in Playa del Carmen for so we had to get going. I told the waiter and he shrugged I feel like if the owner or a manager had been around, I would have been able to resolve this. The person grilling this night, I had never seen before, must have been inexperienced with grill temps and times for cooking steak to order. Not that age matters too much but he was a very young man. Maybe 18 at most. I remember when the owner grilled or at least supervised the grill. It would have been nice to be treated like a valued customer and apologized to for the inconvenience."

"We have created an authentic Mexican lunch so we have taken a chance from the reviews and woman and I went from the cruise ship (about half a mile). we're glad we made it. I had garnel burrito woman had huhn chimichanga side of guacamole. the with thick chips and three sauces (2 habanero based 1 tomato base.) wow! super friendly and even better eating! even gave us a shot of mezcal w/ mango. ansel los will make you feel like family and it's real!"
