"Shrimp were good. I was glad to find a restaurant with cornbread fish batter. (I hate thick, gloppy flour batter. It was crisp on outside, but raw tasting on inside even after microwaving 3 minutes. fish was tasty, but pulled batter off. will try one more time because is hard to find restaurant cornmeal batter."

"Chaley made me remember my experience in Panera. I looked at the cookies and she gave me a 100% guarantee of satisfaction and told me if it wasn't good that I could spit the cookie on her uniform. But I was very pleased with the beautiful Frost cookie that Chaley grew up in her backyard. Panera cookies run on Chaley Hawkins."

"I love this place. Phil is really friendly. He'll talk to you about making barbecue or probably about anything else. The rest of the help (one woman is the only other person I can remember seeing there) is friendly. The pulled pork is the best I have tasted in North Georgia, bar none. It's smoky, it's as tender as it could possibly be, and applying sauce is up to the customer. This is how it ought to be done. There are sweeter sauces and hotter ones to choose from, all good. The sides are good too, but really I'm all about the meat when I go here. This place looks pretty humble from the road, but the great barbecue places often do. I first tried this place after seeing the Atlanta Magazine write-up online. I thought surely some writer from down in Atlanta wouldn't know squat about good barbecue, but I guess that one did, because this place is tops. If you're driving far to get here, just make sure they're open before you head out. They have somewhat limited hours. And oh yeah, in case you haven't read anything else about this place, you add up your own bill from the menu board. If you don't find that old-fashioned and charming, suck it up, because the barbecue here is more than worth it!"

"Kimberly and Jen by Simply Desserts made an incredible job on my wedding cake and dessert table for my wedding on 23. January. Yep, we got married in the middle of Winter Storm Jonas, who threw several feet of snow on the Washington DC area. But simply desserts scrambled to prep all my desserts early and to make sure that we are able to fail on their delicacies without failing! My cake turned out absolutely beautiful, I was very specific in the type of design I wanted, as well as wanted special Harry Potter touches, and delivered them on every front. It was a small three tied almond cake with caramel cream cheese filling and smooth creamy butter cream freezing on the top. It was decorated with Goldfondant Konfetti on top two tears and butter cream rosettes on the bottom, with a Golden Snitch on the bottom layer as well! As I imagined, and so beautifully executed. My guests could not stop complicating the taste of the cake, as well as the cake itself was moist, but tender, sweet, but not TOO sweet, and just so pleasant. I also ordered cake-pops, mini cheesecakes and panna-cottas from Simply Desserts for the dessert bar, and they were all delicious! Their cakes are huge (and they decorate some of them with chocolate wings for more Golden Snitches! , the mini cheesecakes are so delicious, and the Panna Cottas were delicious and beautifully presented. The tasting was also a really enjoyable experience that enabled us to mix and combine aromas of cakes and fillings until we came together with the perfect combination. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out and would recommend it to any bride (or for any special occasion!"
