"New and Excellent! This is no renaming of Angelo’s, which occupied the same space – Marco Sforza has created a totally new restaurant. The space is way more attractive. The menu is excellent, and the food preparation is authentically Italian with great local ingredients! Pasta is superb, always al dente. The seafood is fresh and wonderfully prepared (e.g. steamed mussels – fresh, deliciously spicy! . Outstanding veal parmigiana. A wonderful selection of Appetizers – several large servings are sharable. The wine list has many great wines at all price levels, but Marco always seems to have new labels to try, including those from the rapidly emerging SE region of Puglia, and they are surprisingly good. Talk about service – I would call their brand hospitality! La Fiamma is the best new addition to a very good Sarasota Italian restaurant scene and, after three recent visits, I rate it in the top two Italian restaurants in Sarasota."

"Typically when I see a restaurant has so many options, I get a little scared for the quality of food, but this was not the case here! I did not have one bad dish here. I highly recommend getting some cheese as a starter and it goes very well with the breadthat is served in the beginning too. I was slightly thrown off by the bleu cheese in the quattro frommagi pasta, but I didn?thate it. Overall, a nice place to get dinner with tons of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. Service and ambiance wasalso good."
