"Perfect lunch spot on the beach. Stellar service from our waiter, Issac. He was very attentive (which can be hard to find in Spain and made menu suggestions that were great. He was there when needed and faded into the background when appropriate. Now, on to the food. The squid ink fritters were an unexpected delight (and a recommendation from Issac . The fritters were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and topped with a tomato jelly, yum! We ordered the sea bass (whole fish to share. Grilled and served with vegetables. Grilled to perfection, flaky and juicy- it was perfect for lunch. If you're at the beach in Barcelona this place that deserves a visit (or many! ."

"My wife and I have been to La Dorada's sister restaurants in Spain and enjoyed the experiences. We took my mother to this restaurant on Christmas day. We ordered the salt-encrusted Sea Bream (La Dorada, their specialty and the seafood paella, both for two. The Sea Bream was prepared tableside and was as delicious as we remembered. The paella was very disappointing (especially for $50! . It was offered as seafood paella but the seafood was noticeably absent. Four or five small shrimp were the only evidence of anything other than cooked rice and tomatoes. Had it been just my wife and I dining I would have sent it back. So, go for the Sea Bream but skip the paella. The service was great!"

"Surprisingly bad given the reviews. We arrived with a party of six and they sort of ignore us for awhile at the door, and then the woman who runs the place came over and seemed annoyed and pushed two tables together but then walked back to take an order and never actually spoke to us to bring us to the table. A little weird. We were still trying to get silverware ten minutes later. And there were bugs flying around during the whole meal. Food was poor. We 've been to Portugal and, trust me, it doesn 't taste like this. The bread was dry (maybe a day old? . Not served with butter or olive oil. One appetizer came out and then about twenty minutes later, a couple more. The mussels and chorizo were good, and the Caesar salad was very good (though not exactly a Portuguese dish . My steak was well done when ordered medium rare, and Portuguese style just means they put a fried egg on top. Just a piece of overcooked steak with an egg--no sauce or anything or veggies (I know, they 're for the table . The vegetables for the table were greasy and overcooked. The fries were very good though. The service was unsmiling the whole time, bordering on rude. Not sure why. We are an interracial family but the server wasn 't particularly friendly to anyone else at their tables either. The stuffed fish is stuffed with pork (not mentioned on the ancient menu, which doesn 't have half the wines listed and doesn 't describe any of the dishes . Our niece doesn 't eat pork and the server kept saying, you still have to pay for it. You should have told us... Not untrue but not handled in a friendly way and we just paid for it and had it boxed to take home. Three members of our party (including me spent extra time in the bathroom afterwards. $260 for six people with two bottles of wine. The whole place just left a sense of being tired and dialing it in. I wanted to like it since it was my birthday dinner but just can 't recommend."
