"Very warm, welcoming and cosy bar/restaurant. Attentive staff. The interior is well designed. The real log fire and fairy lights add to the magic. Unfortunately the chicken sandwiches didn’t quite hit the mark. They were unimaginative, required seasoning and didn’t live up to expectations. The mustard dressing was oily and the advacado was scraped on and off, chunks would have added interest as would a dollop of good old tomato salsa. Nice thick sliced extra soft bread would be easier to eat than hard extra sour dough . The coffee is very delicious. I will be back for more."

"Had the best Sunday roast here, staff were really nice and incredibly helpful. Also accommodating when a couple of us wanted vegetarian roast rather than the vegan option, which was great. Really nice pub as well, couldn’t fault it for anything!"

"Booked a table via the website. When arrived asked about booking was told to sit anywhere. Was also told to “download the app” to order as “it will be getting busy soon” by a young male member of staff. Sat outside (had asked for option of shade when I made the booking online). Was not greeted for some time (and there were no instructions on which app to download on table) then we were told that drinks could not be ordered separately to food when we asked. When I said we were waiting for other members of the group booking to arrive and would like to order 2 drinks this was met with some attitude by a blonde female member of staff. Decided to wait to order drinks because of this. Asked for a child seat for the table but by the time this arrived decided to move to an inside table. Inside service was better, was greeted at the table and offered drinks (contradicting the earlier comment from the other waitress). Brunette waitress indoors was much more helpful. Ordered food via the app. Did not have option for chips with the kids meal (only skin on fries). Waitress was able to change this with the kitchen when asked (although I did have to go to the bar area to do so). Drinks arrived had to send back a half pint glass of beer which had old dry lipstick on. Food arrived below average quality for the price. Fish and chips was of good quality but beef roast dinners x2 were poor. “Serloin” was very overdone and roast potatoes not crispy whole thing was saved by decent gravy. Children’s burgers were very dry and chips pre salted (very salty) which had to be removed prior to the children eating. Was asked at the end of the meal if everything was alright (not after food arrived as is usually the case) replied it was ok to no follow up interest other than settling the bill. Paid for drinks separately by card. Left without making a fuss but ordinarily would have complained in person and expected some discount from the final bill. Previously enjoyed eating here prior to lockdown but very unlikely I will return in the future after this experience."
