"We were looking for a comida corrida (lunch special) near our hotel and came across this small, lovely location. Food was excellent, with well prepared Oaxacan specialties (I had cochinita pibil and my wife ate a vegetable stew that came with a side order of...flank steak. Also, came with a well made salsa, I handmade tortillas, and onions with a vinegar sauce. Excellent food at a great price. The restaurant has its tables in an interior courtyard. Quiet and beautiful. Staff gave great service. We have experience eating around Oaxaca and can recommend them highly."

"Three of us had breakfast at La Fonda in the market. Verbal menu (command of the language or translator helps); fresh juices were large and portions were hearty. Nice large tables to accommodate a group."
