"Don 't think I 've written a negative review before but i want to share my experience earlier today:Went in to have some nice lunch on a rainy day (1:30 pm). Barely got greeted. Food was okay, not too flavorful. I wasn 't asked if I 'd have it there or to go and even when it was obvious that I was going to have it there, I got it in a to go box with plastic cutlery. Had a salad as my side and with a tiny plastic fork hard to eat, so I kindly asked her is she had normal cutlery aswell. 'No, we don 't have that ' while roll ups were laying right behind her. To be lazy/save yourself work washing dishes and not give customers real plates/cutlery is one thing, but to lie about it when someone asks.. No music there either.Been to the place across the street before (great experience) and wanted to switch it up this time. Regret doing that. As a server I get that you can 't always give perfect service (if understaffed in summer for example) but if that 's not the case and you simply don 't give a .. Didn 't spend too much money there fortunately, but even that twenty five bucks, I wish I still had in my pocket.."

"First time and would definitely go again. The Owl's Nest is a warm feels like home bistro, nestled in the heart of Chemainus. You'll feel relaxed and a little taken back, with the country like decor...(making me think back to when being at my Nana's house as a kid)A relaxing/chill vibe the moment you open the door.The aroma of fresh brewed coffee, the smells of home cooked bakery and other dishes, will have you wanting to return again and again."

"Great food interesting owner. We really enjoyed our dinner. The Wor Won Ton soup is simply one of the best we have had. The hamburgers are excellent as is the home made pie. The fish and chips looked wonderful and were being ordered by the locals. Do not miss if you are in the area."

"Wonderfully delicious fresh foods! . Our meal looked like a "work of art". It's presentation was so beautiful we didn't want to eat it! But alas we dug in!!!!! We took our time enjoying every savory morsel! We traveled all the way from New York for this exceptionally delectable meal!!!! Enjoy!!!!!!!"

"An amazing little ice cream shop tucked away into a corner outside the back of a commercial building. This place does their own ice cream and also puts on a show for those that take the horse carriage ride around town. Pro tip. If you do the full house carriage package you get a free scoop of ice cream. On this day a fresh made batch of mint chocolate chip was in order. Was the perfect treat after a tour of town and on a hot day nonetheless."
