"Polo is located where the old just us! was on kings wharf. it is a beautiful large room with stylish furniture and an electric fireplace. the offer of soy and mandel milk for their vegan or milk-tolerant customers and have a small selection of baked goods and delicious morsel. I was on a Sunday and they had a breakfast cookie, coconut loaf and peanut butter cookies that were vegan, but I know they also have vegan brownies other days. the employees worked very friendly and known about vegan fare. it is a cozy place to sit and chat, drink and a light bite and relax. also very happy to have a coffee shop on the dartmouth side, which offers more than soy milk."

"We go monthly with our three kids! Lots of variety, large item menu, great staff! Fresh sashimi Large tempura menu Korean-Japanese mixes Fresh, flavourful Gyoza. Great spot for newbies and lovers of sushi. Huge parking lot, AYCE (with military discount), large sushi bar and kitchen staff, clean facility and rooms for a date night or a large gathering. It's so bad now that the staff knows us! A must try."

"A nice casual restaurant with good pub food and smoke meats. In addition there is a good selection of local beer. We arrived at the end of the evening but we were not rushed to order or hurried through our meal. The owner was friendly and took his time to provide extra information on the menu items and beers on tap. The smoke menu items and burgers are very good. Portions are large and we were offered containers to takeaway our leftovers. The restaurant also has a patio, if you prefer the out of doors. You won't regret visiting!"

"Absolutely the best I have ever had...... I couldn 't disagree more with the past two reviews, however everyone is entitled to an opinion. I first found Modern Orchid in June 2011. Since I ate there the first time, I have returned each and every week atleast once and most weeks more. I drive an hour and one half each way to eat at the Orchid. The owners, Amanda and Phillip are wonderful!! So kind and accomodating to their guests. The service is outstanding, professional and very attentive. Their vision for the restaurant is exciting and I can 't wait to see what comes in the future. The food is absolutely outstanding. Fresh, well presented, beautiful prepared and very tasty. I travel quite extensively and with Asian food being my favorite I have tried from Halifax to Paris to China and back.....the Modern Orchid is without reservation the best I have every had. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone without hesitation or restriction. Must haves on the menu are Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Crispy Spicy Beef, Fresh Salad Rolls, Crispy Beef Cakes, Hunan Chicken, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Moo Shoo Pork, Mango Chicken. Everything on the menu is exceptional. If you have not been to the Modern Orchid put it on your 'must eat there ' list. You will not be disappointed."

"All I can is excellent. A very busy restaurant and Mother got her booth, loved her birthday fish and chips, doggy bag to take home and especially atmosphere. Our wait staff, in particular, was lovely and very accommodating, thus large tip! As a matter of fact, we’ll be back for my breakfast birthday in March. See you soon!"

"We've been going to Finbars at least once a month since they opened in Portland Hills. Love the staff, food and atmosphere. We've never had a bad experience. I highly recommend the Dublin Club and onion rings."
