"Only our second visit, but we were in the area, and I was tempted to see if the E&C Burger I'd had on my last visit was as brilliant as I'd remembered the first time. It most definitely was. Strange really, because I rarely order a burger in a pub/restaurant, but this one is well worth the trip. My wife had the Halloumi burger which she also really enjoyed. We were made to feel very welcome by the landlady and her staff, and went away feeling very full and satisfied. A shame you're not on our doorstep, but we will definitely be back, at least to try some of the other items on the menu."

"The tea room is set right in antique shop, so you can browse while you enjoy your meal, the soup is a favourite, with lovely crusty bread, and a nice cappuccino to wash it down, it’s got a faithful clientele, which for me is a...good indication of what’s to come."

"Long wait ito be served as only 1 member of staff. She was obviously overworked but very pleasant. Did not realise until paying that this cafe is part of the adjacent Masserellas, when I noticed that my order of a toasted sandwich was taken there to be heated. After waiting a considerable time for the sandwich, I asked another member of staff how long it was likely to be. She returned fairly quickly with the item, but then remarked that it was not fully toasted as I was not willing to wait!!! I believe the management need to invest in some proper customer service training if they ant to keep customers."

"We decided upon a mid-week meal and were happy that we could book on-line very easily. It was also a real positive to see the mid-week meal offer at £10-£12 including drinks. The service was very good and the food arrived promptly. The two pasta dishes were substantial, delicious and very rich. The sage was a little over-bearing and it could easily be seen why it my not be to everyone’s taste. The homemade sausage was quite the surprise when it arrived (see picture! but certainly tasted much better than it looked on the plate. Another very rich meal that certainly needed some vegetables to soften the blow somewhat. Overall very good and we’d certainly go back."

"Great service from the fantastic staff,had a panini and homemade coleslaw pot it up and sell it ,(you would make a mint my daughter in law had a gluten free toasted sandwich and a gluten free chocolate brownie she cant believe the choice she had to choose from, we'll be visiting again real soon,"

"We booked to take my mum in law for Mother’s Day as we went prior to lockdown and had a lovely 3 course Sunday lunch. Today was bad and wish we had gone somewhere else. The table for 3 of us was booked for 12:30. The waitress gave us our menu and asked what we wanted to drink. She kept forgetting what she was doing, someone else ended up sorting our drinks out. We didn’t get our starters for 50 minutes. The fish bites came with mayo and I would have thought that they would be better with tartare sauce, however the fish bites were nice but that’s where it ends. The mains came and we were disgusted. My mum in law and I had a mix of meat and there was quite a bit of it. My hubby just wanted beef and got 2 small slices and his dinner was like a child’s portion with a teaspoonful of cabbage and a lot less of everything compared to ours, we had to give him some of our meat. The worst was the gravy, it was so salty that we scarped it off. Almost 2 hours after arriving they still hadn’t been to take our plates or ask about desserts, although I was supposed to be given a feee cheesecake for Mother’s Day. We decided we had been there long enough and it was so rubbish I forfeited the cheesecake. When I paid they even got our table number wrong. Needless to say we won’t be going again and definitely don’t recommend it."
