"I just ate here with my toddler, who was attracted by the winged crab decor. We had the chicken katsu fish fry lunch plates. Absolutely recommend it and will be back! The chicken was lightly fried, juicey chicken tenders, perfectly cooked fresh rice (our rice cooker broke a few months ago and I've been eating poorly stovetop cooked rice like a barbarian), creamy coleslaw, and a side of katsu sauce that was more vinegary than sweet. The fish was panko fried and juicey, with french fries that in hindsight could have used salt but I was already eating fried salty food so not a big deal, and a side of tartar sauce and vinegary ketchup. I paid $23 tip for both plates. The staff was really nice. It looks like they have daily prices for their seafood specials (crab legs, lobster etc). Given the quality of the simple plates I had today I am sure their other food is equally delicious. Apologies for the pic of chomped food... I was with my toddler bit wanted to show how perfectly fried everything was."

"Now closed, the short life span of this place is a cautionary tale for anyone wanting to open a food business. Apparently, the initial first had all rave reviews, but as time went on, (Or so I am told) reviews plummeted, and business suffered, culminating with the loss of their lease on that prime Emerson and Shattuck location where 'The Omnivore ' once operated. (The following was written when they were still open and highly regarded) Classic top grade BBQ, loved by the locals, (especially little old ladies) who like me, were once loyal to flints. Portions generous, ingredients fresh, staff cool, what 's not to like. sauces: YUM. NOTE: Try the brisket sandwich before you do anything else."
