"We sat out in the back area and had a soft drink in the sunshine. Only drawback was a smell of something like paraffin constantly. Service was good a young barmaid polite and friendly and quick."

"Firstly I would like to say that the rooms were amazing. They were clean, well stocked and you can tell that they are cleaned with great attention to detail. The staff that were cleaning the rooms were very polite and helpful when i needed an iron and ironing board. The grounds were clean and tidy, the plants were all well watered and at first glance the place gives off a feeling of a good countryside vibe as my wife would say. However.. The place is let down by the other half of the business. When the bar eventually opened at 6pm we were greeted not by happy smiling staff but by a busy, obviously understaffed gentleman who didn 't seem too happy to be serving customers. Due to staffing issues we were unable to have breakfast at the Inn and had to travel to get some. This usually isn 't too much of a problem, however we were not made aware that this was the case prior to arrival or even at check in. It was only when we went to book in our breakfast, having had a drink, that it was not available. If we were told prior to arrival then we could have brought something with us. The bar then, having only opened at 6pm, was closed at 9pm again without us being made aware at check-in. The barman did allow us to have one pint each to take back to our room which was nice. Overall, a bit of a let down for £100 a night. Felt a bit unwelcome and wouldn 't rush to book again. Honestly.. 4/10 which has been saved by the room staff."

"Managed to get a smile out of the staff. Couldn't really be bothered to tell us what sort of cakes they had. The food was just ok and no staff came bk to our table either to ask if every thing was OK or to see if we needed any more drinks. Only came to table aw she was leaving to clear our plates. Wont be going again"
