"Verve Spice is situated in Toorak Road South Yarra and is a licenced breakfast/lunch cafe, closing at 4pm. The food is fresh, tasty and plentiful. The breakfasts are excellent both in variety and quality but my absolute favourite is the chicken, corn and avocado salad. The owner is on the spot at all times and it does make a difference. Beautiful vases of flowers and free wifi are little extras that do make a difference."

"Found this via Deliveroo and ordered some pitas from them yesterday. Go for the regular size as the Petipita is really not filling enough. They forgot our pita chips which they later delivered separately but I didn't realise that it's basically just baked pita bread...pieces as opposed to french fries. "'Quick bite of the elements ' <br/ Sometimes walking through CBD there 's not much around for brekky particularly on Collins but stumbled into the place and seemed quite nice with heaps of hot breakfast items. I had an egg bacon muffin which was tasty almost like a Macca 's one. <br/ I also had a Chorizo and egg roll which was okay but probably needed a type of base pasting such as a nice relish as it was a little bit plain. I added chilli flakes to give it a bit more kick. We also had freshly made sandwiches which were massive and plenty of good ingredients. Their coffee (mocha) I thought was up there in taste.<br/"

"Love this place. Easy vibe. Great music. Private booths. Great booze list. A must visit place on the Melbourne nightlife map. The stairs can be daunting after a few drinks, in either direction, however wear appropriate footwear and shouldn't be an issue. Highly recommended."

"Swanston Street is one of the oddest streets in Melbourne, it never seems to hit any particular note in terms of style of food, shops or otherwise. Then there is Cookie, the place that is always jumping, has brilliant food and drink and you think - walking up Swanston Street was worth it and once you are up those stairs in Curtin House it is an oasis of cool on all sorts of dimensions.The team make you feel right at home and are right on it in terms of looking after you. Questions in relation to the menu and drinks answered in detail.Baked Scallops, Pomelo, Coriander & Chilli plus the Betel Bliss Bombs DIY- Betel Leaves, Peanuts, Lime, Coconut, Ginger, Onion & Dried Shrimp with Sticky Shrimp & Coconut Sauce were sensational starters for our meal. Tangy flavours and brilliant balance.Main courses of Fried Snapper, Bok Choi, Tamarind & Fried Shallots with the tamarind making the taste really rewarding and Green Curry, Chicken & Corn Dumplings, Yard Beans & Basil rounding out the meal. And we chose a pinot grigio to match the food and it worked really well. I'd recommend getting in early evening or book a table, you would be disappointed if you missed out."

"The base of the red velvet $9) is stunning, managing to be delicate and soft yet dense and richly flavoured. It really is unlike any other cake I’ve tried. The vanilla buttercream is silky and light but I would have preferred even a little tang of cream cheese as I found the cake to become a bit monotonous without it. Still one of the best cakes I've ever eaten though.<br/ <br/ The smoky choc chip cookie $3) was nice but just alright. The smoky flavour was subtle.<br/ <br/ Very keen to return and try everything else."
