"Situated in the coolest-of-cool buildings in Uptown Saint John, this new Cafe is THE spot to spend a Saturday afternoon sipping speciality coffee with your friends. I cannot say enough about this place - the food it authentic, fresh, really different, great vegetarian selections, salads to die for (not the usual lettuce stuff) like Heirloom Beet, Chunky Potato, Roasted Veg Medley. Unique dressing and presentation. Incredibly tastey. They have unbelievable oatcakes at the cash, along with ginger molasses cookies to DIE for. They have "hand pies" which are unbelievable! Like flakey pastry with the most tasty fillings like chickpea veg curry (I have this one all the time). There is always a little salad that comes with the pies. You have never had anything like these hand pies - they are DELICIOUS. The ambient is "chill", warm, cafe style, industrial typical Historica reno - tres cool. The only annoying thing is that it is very often filled to capacity with students who take up all the seats with their laptops and coats, etc. and are having only 1 coffee - staying all afternoon. NOT COOL. I have often had to turn away. However, if you want, you can take your coffee and lunch with you into the connected "pub" next door and eat there - if you want to sit in a pub. It's a little dark and a little cold."

"This place is an example of why some chain restaurants are suffering-the staff was animated and the food was just "OK"; service was very slow even though there was plenty of staff around; very limited beer & wine selection; the menu tried to include everything but sometimes too many selections don't work out. We had a steak salad, shaved beef brisket, and the 12 oz sirloin. The mashed potato side could have been microwaved; the supposed BBQ beef brisket was served cold as was the steak on the salad; the sirloin came out pretty good and was the only good thing to say about the food. There has to be a better meal choice around the Saint John area"
