"RAW carrot cake! Unfortunately, it’s possibly the worst “carrot cake” you can have it’s actually a really dense wet muffin instead of a traditional cake and has cranberries and flate white chocolate chips, very strange and disappointing for a place that calls itself a bakery. The danishes taste old or frozen and if it’s not that, something else is off because the pastry is chewy and stiff instead of flaky and leaves a bad gritty aftertaste. Like other reviews, most pastries bought were sadly tossed because they were pretty bad. What a waste of money. You’re better off getting desserts anywhere else even the grocery store pastries are better. Are you ok Crust? Seems like a lot is not going well there.Nothing tasted fresh and is definitely not worth the prices upwards of $4.50 per pastry. Also, isn’t quiche supposed to be refrigerated? They have them stacked in the display case which doesn’t seem safe.Sad experience :"

"I came in a few minutes early before the restaurant was actually open. I was greeted with a kind and friendly waitress. I asked if it would be all right if I sat inside while she finished opening and she politely said yes. She also handed me the menu and Ireplied that I knew what I wanted. A medium bowl of the Wor Won Ton soup that was served to me within minutes hot and delicious.I ordered another one to bring home for my mother as we use to dine in and enjoy the Wor Won Ton. It is delicious and the bestin town. Thank you again for great customer service and a delicious bowl of Wor Won Ton Soup."

"We ordered chowfun, egg foo young, sweet and sour pork and lemon fried chicken. Order was ready on time. The chowfun was OK and the foo young weak but edible. The pork and chicken were mostly gristle or leathery. Would not order take out again....The buffett has been decent on previous visits."

"I ordered take out at a later time which they had accommodated! Very pleased.When I got there I decided I didnt want the coke I ordered and the waitress gave me grief about the 1.95 (over priced) can of coke. She said I had to open the bag if I didnt want it any more.I figured maybe she had a long day and smiled - still tipped her too. Besides the lack of customer service skills the meal was prepared very quickly.The food was sub par, as most chinese food is in victoria. All of it is the same and nothing distinguishes one from another in regards to quality. Nothing is authentic, or cooked to say "hotel" standard.Anyways - I ordered combo for 2 - sweet and sour pork wasnt crispy - the chow mein which was their sun wah mein was decent! I actually enjoyed this.The chopped chicken and cashew chop suey now was rediculous. It was the weakest excuse for chop suey ive ever had. There werent any bean sprouts, zero egg, no cabbage -it was literally mirepoix (probably frozen) tossed with mushrooms, soggy chicken and salted cashews.My overall experience was displeasing and would have given one star - but i gotta give some credit for the speedy service. Wont be going back."

"It was the last night of our vacation and we wanted something special, featuring local seafood. The salmon and halibut were amazing. Perfectly prepared and accompanied with wonderful, flavorful sides. The turnip croquettes were a delightful surprise. The Cesar salad was very good, though the "anchovies" were just the faintest nod in the dressing. The service was attentive but not overbearing. We especially appreciated the help of the sommelier in choosing a dry Okanagan gewurz, a favorite wine that is hard to get at home. The room is gracious, attractive and quiet. Fruit fritters for dessert capped a fantastic evening."

"We have been customers since it opened, but since the owners have not been in charge of customer service, rudeness has crept in- for instance, on our last visit a staff member openly complained about having to open the chiller to sell us some cake near the close of business! Unbelievable attitude! Then we were charged $5 for a piece of cake! there is no price list for cake or baked goods which is unacceptable. Very disappointing!"
