"My wife ordered a thanksgiving dinner for 2. It consisted of the most fabulous juicy tender turkey breast EVER. Corn bread stuffing, gravy and cranberry . In my 70+ years I have had a lot of thanksgiving meals...this was the best. Man brought it (Raining) to my car, placed it in the trunk. The day before. My wife heated it up on Thanksgiving.......WONDERFUL. If iZ is doing Christmas we'll order again."

"Authentic bbq ya’ll. when they go out of their car and smell the smoke on the road, they know that it will be a good meal. there are some FullMoon’s around the opposite, but I wanted to eat at the original location. I went south to 65 and it took a little longer to get to the location, but it was worth it. it is a small place with approx. 30 seats, the walls are with autographed sports pictures of athlete I suspect have eaten there. we arrived at 3:30 a.m. and the half of the place was filled, but it took only a few minutes to use. I had the ribbed plate with coleslaw and mac n cheese. the koleslaw was certainly unique. it was not a mayonnaise based shiny it seemed to have a mix of relish and seasoned. much different from what I'm used to, but it was really good. the mac and the cheese flattered homemade. I wish I had tried her kartoffel salad because he looked good. the reserve ribs had a good smoke ring, but had no big smoke taste. that which my wife had was very delicate and tasteful. I guess it's their tradition to mix the top of the meat with sauce, but it works because the sauce had a good taste. they also have a spicy chow chow that is super tasteful. below the line, next time I come thru birmingham, I will stop again. it was great."

"This place is always delicious. If you go during their peak hours, there can be a lengthy wait. On a Sunday afternoon, we waited 40 minutes for a table and it was worth it. They are always quite knowledgeable and will explain the dishes and what they have in them. It's family style servings, so be prepared to share with others in your party. The beef tenderloin cooked in a szechuan sauce is amazing. The beef will melt in your mouth when you order this dish. And it contains radishes that are cooked just perfectly and have a nice bite that isn't overpowering. All of their food is quality and the staff is kind and efficient. Don't miss this gem!"

"I think there is a Downtown Homewood trifecta Savage's Bakery, O'carr's Restaurant and O'Henry's Coffee Shop. At Savage's, I highly recommend the sugar cookies and the smoke drops. Both are delicious! I'm sure everything else is good, but these are my favorites."
