"Wonderful spot for lunch I had a delicious corn fritter with halloumi and peppers, cake and cappuccino all lovely and the cafe was a warm haven on a freezing December day. The next table had what they said was a superb afternoon tea, which they had traveled to from Georgia USA!"

"We live locally and having read all the positive buzz about Sam Jaks in town, we decided to give their newer set-up The Plough in Stratton a go. From start to finish, we couldn 't have been less impressed as absolutely everything was mediocre. The surroundings, the decor, the service, and the table settings are underwhelming, and the menu choices are limited and overpriced. At £14, my beef carpaccio starter was little more than a couple of slivers of beef in a mustard-type dressing and their £17 fish and chips was 'bog standard ' and unremarkable. We eat out regularly and feel blessed to be surrounded by many great restaurants and wonderful dining pubs. Sadly, The Plough is neither."
