"Update: 5/7/22 Once again Doug was attentive, prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. My husband and I are always treated like family when we come in. This time we tried the Duck Breast and the Pepper Crusted Pork Loin. We got our usual garlic salads (the mf best you'll taste) and frites, but this time we also ordered the lobster bisque. Zero regrets. Make a reservation, they get BUSY Mara and Doug have been amazing servers- but honestly I've never received anything less than stellar service at Duck City. Their specials are always worth taking a chance! Frites are a must. I keep coming back and 11/10 would recommend"

"There were 3 workers and about 10 tables. We sat at the bar. We had to flag down the not busy bartender for a drink. Ordered food and waited over 20 minutes for the appetizer. About 40 minutes for the other food. Had to get our own silverware and could not find our own plates, so we didn't have any. A second time we had to flag down the bartender for more drinks and ranch dressing. Finally got the dressing but to late. 3 different couple waited at the door to be seated and nobody helped them. During that time the servers were cleaning off tables and completely ignored the waiting customers. I gave 2 stars because I can't deny that the food was delicious. If service would have been good, I definitely would have given a 5 star rating. I feel like we were paying to do everything ourselves. I feel we deserve our money back or a comped meal to come back. Otherwise I will not go back. Portabella sandwich was delicious."

"Second time here. Service was efficient, even though it was Homecoming for the high schools. Cocktail specials are inventive and good. The chefs haven't let me down, yet. I always get the chicken marsala sub pasta for the potatoes. My friends are obsessed with the ziti al forno. Great place! Big spaces and lots of seating! Great teamwork (it seems)! Very impressive menu offerings and great execution by the whole team. I frequent more mom and pop restaurants but this place is good and it tastes like my nonna made it."

"Skip is our favorite! So knowledgeable we were only able to stay in iowa for 72 hours, but after coming here, we had to come back to see Skip! He knows the whole history of tequila and their food was the bomb! Nathan and I love you, Skippy! We will miss you! Thanks for the Don Julio suggestion!"

"It was ten minutes before our waitress took our order. It was another five minutes before I was served my beer. After forty minutes we still had not received our food. we called the waitress over and asked why we still hadn't received our salads. She told us the "All You Can Eat" special did not include salads, although it was clearly stated in the ad. At that point, we called for a manager, explained what had happened, and we left the restaurant."
