"Aside from service being a bit tardy towards the end of the meal, more or less expected in central and south Mexico, this restaurant hit a grand slam, clearing all the bases. The wait staff was courteous and helpful, the wine and spirits list more than adequate (although they struggled finding a dry white), presentation unrivaled and quality of fare the best we have had in 20+ years periodically visiting Puebla. The restaurant was recommended by a friend, and generally we take recommendations from anyone anywhere with a grain of salt, but this one was on the mark.Ambiance was lovely, traditional and vintage with that touch of French of course, not unusual for Puebla. Location is walkable from almost anywhere in the centro histórico (say if you are staying within ten blocks of the zócalo).Price was within the ballpark of a high end quality restaurant anywhere in Puebla or Oaxaca (where we live), and given that portions were healthy enough when coupled with a couple of appetizers and complementary breads and the like, there was really nothing to complain about. If I'm content at the end of a meal based on quality of food and service, I'll happily pay. There were four of us, and the cost with drinks and no dessert, including a healthy tip, was 1400 pesos per couple.Next visit to Puebla, we'll be back, without any doubt."

"Apparently this place recently opened, it seems to be a copy of Albuquerque's "Quesadilla Grille" . The menu is small and has limited choices for dietary requirements.The concept is a bit confusing, as it seems to be a fast food restaurant: From the entrance they guide you through "footprints" on the floor that explain the ordering process but by the time you reach the counter they tell you to take a seat and someone will take the order.They have a drinks bar available to the public, however the clientele seemed to have limited use of this bar.Pros:The sauces for the quesadillas are tasty.They offer corn chips while you wait for your quesadilla.Cons:Although the menu is simple, it has limited options regarding choices for dietary requirements.It seems the staff lacks training and knowledge of the concept, Is it a fast food restaurant? Is it an à la carte restaurant? If it is an a la carte service, it lacks a menu at the table.It seems they haven't yet measured the portions of their ingredients, this was a Saturday 11:00 AM and they had no more than chicken, and on their menu they offer Sirloin, Arrachera and another meat cut (in the end they got some Arrachera, which made me doubt if they were really offering me the portion relative to the medium quesadilla)The service is friendly but very slow, they take too long to attend, prepare and serve the food.The person in charge of the grill doesn't have enough experience, the Arrachera Quesadilla I asked came with carbonized pieces of meat that detract the quality of the food.Tips:The medium-sized quesadilla has a good size, enough to satisfy the hunger (Although you fill yourself with the corn chips they offer as snack while you wait).They offer soda refill."

"Los baños siempre huelen a orines. No tienen papel en los sanitarios y no tienen papel para secarse las manos o secador eléctrico.La comida es regular, algunos platillos se salvan. Huele a pan recién hecho que es bueno, pero es un lugar bastante caro para lo que ofrecen. Es increíble como subsisten con tan mala calidad y un precio bastante elevado. No dan ticket de compra cuando uno paga y todos andan de mala cara."

"We found this little place by accident, after finding that the vegetarian restaurant we were looking for was closed. What luck! La Gran Manzana (The Big Apple) is a lovely, homely, friendly restaurant, serving a fantastic 4 course 'menu del dia' for a very reasonable 50 pesos. The dishes are all vegetarian or vegan and typical of the region. On the day we visited we had a choice of 2 salads: 'sweet', with nuts, apple and raisins, and savoury, both of which were delicious and very fresh. To follow, the selection was pasta or soup, so we had one of each and, again, very tasty and decent sized portions. Next, molletes: tasty patties, accompanied by mixed veg, or a corn and nopal (cactus 'paddle') casserole, in a spicy chipotle broth .......yum! To finish, we were served a fragrant milk pudding with peach pieces. The menu del dia includes a fresh fruit drink, with a refill! The place is small (about 30 covers) and unassuming, but the atmosphere is special and the food is delicious. It's so good to find a vegetarian restaurant which serves typical dishes. There were a few vegan products for sale, too. The staff speak Spanish and only a couple of words of English. It's quite a way from the Centre, but an easy bus ride and well worth it."
