"I love the gado gado here! A night at Makanan means a vegetarian feast for me. It's inexpensive and very laid-back. The family who runs it are very sweet. A highlight of any Makanan dinner is getting to watch Mono perform love songs on his keyboard... go on a weekend and don't miss him!"

"This place is more of a bakery than cafe, the style is really laid back, super tidy and not packed out with seating. I've not eaten in before, but have stopped to pick up one of their pane sandwiches on three occasions. All three times they were totally delicious. The New Yorker is my favourite, a perfect combination of pickle, corned beef, Dijon mayo and Swiss cheese, but the vego and old English are also worth a try if you're in need of some delicious eats on the run. They have pies too (next on my list) and lots of freshly baked breads and sweet treats to keep everyone satisfied."

"Attended a 4 course with beers dinner here recently. Everything was absolutely delicious. Lamb, pork, goat, beef- all so tender and with succulent sauces. There was also indulgent cheeses with each course and of course great beers."

"Out for the usual Sunday breaky run, thought we'd try this place. Not sure how long the place has been going for but the customer service was pretty average. Staff were more concerned about seating people than looking after the people that were already there or they were sitting down talking to other customers. Its table service but after 15 mins my partner ended up going to the counter and ordering for ourselves. Meals came out eventually and sadly they werent memorable. I had a vege stack kinda thing which was basically two slabs of bread garnished with a couple of strips of zucchini, kale and half an avocado dipped in sesame seeds. Not worth the $17.90 pricetag. Go elsewhere for better value for money and service."
