"This place has literally THE best southern soul food! As a navy brat raised in the south, it can be hard to find good soul food in Ohio. Shrimp and grits are to die for, the Hattiesburg Hash and Memphis Soul Breakfast are also great choices! Can't wait to try the Salmon croquettes!"

"Heard about Fred Gari's from a friend. Decided to stop in to grab a sandwich to eat on Fountain Square. It was busy usually a good sign for a restaurant. I ordered the Reuben based on other reviews. I also went with Greek pasta salad and a brownie. Because I was a first timer, they added an free cookie. The guys had a local flair that got them extra points. They were a bit disorganized causing it to take a little longer to fill orders and they messed up and gave my friend the wrong drink. The food was good, but I would try other sandwiches on my next visit. Their rye was a bit thin and soggy for me. Corned beef was good, but not as plentiful as other downtown restaurants. Sides were great. Overall I liked the place and would order ahead for pickup. Good stop for a nice lunch on the square."

"I'd never been here before. The reuben was incredible. Flavorful throughout, moist bread...every bite was delicious. It came with a potato pancake that was the perfect balance of crispy outside and soft inside with great seasoning. If you don't like reubens, there are plenty of other items to try, and they're probably just as good!"
