"Great to see it open again. This is a prototypical small town, day only gathering spot with good food, friendly service and comfy atmosphere. My first choice wasn't available, something the server didn't know up front, but the spinach Benedict came out loaded with fresh raw spinach and deliciously simple, hot home fries. My partner's breakfast was equally good, both plates had way more than enough food, but certainly good enough so we both finished it all. Be aware of the 3+ percent surcharge on credit and debit transactions, but it is not the restaurant that gets it, it's the processor. Still"

"Before some weeks I found a large piece of metal scrubber in my burger. today I gave the place on more shot, just to find the terrible service again. much too expensive for beer and food quality. I waited for a salad for 50 minutes. this place got my goat, literally. never again, would not recommend anyone."

"I consider myself a bit of a pulled pork connoisseur and Mat’s is truly at the top of my list of best BBQ. When I see pulled pork BBQ offered at an eatablishment, I order it to see how good, or bad, it is. I do this even when traveling out of state. Mat’s is hands down some of the best BBQ I’ve ever eaten even compared to BBQ from down south. Also, I greatly enjoy the atmosphere at the cafe. Very relaxing for a nice lunch. The sides served are great, too. So good!!"

"Amazing food, good service, but expensive and slow (like every restaurant in Jackson). They charge extra for the ?special? pierogis, which I didn?t know or at least didn?t read on the menu? seems excessive. Excellent dessert options, and I appreciated the local beer. No wait on a Thursday at 6 pm, which was a plus."

"Ive ordered twice from here! Their corned beef and pastrami are really good!! I have a sloppy joe once with the small portion, and it is actually a small portion, perfect for small stomachs or kids!! I just ordered a corned beef Ruben with a medium portion and it was perfect! Their Potato Latkes are soo good with the apple sauce!! But I do have to be honest, I was very disappointed with the Mac n cheese, very watery and very soft noodles. But other than that, this place is delicious, I dont normally leave reviews !"
