"Today I went to the Sofitel Wentworth Hotel in Sydney for a Beauty and the Beast High tea. Expectations were high as The Mad Hatters Tea Party at The Westin was amazing.The hotel is old and "nice" and in need of renewal. The High Tea was held on the ground floor in the Soirée restaurant which was "nice", nothing out of the box. When we arrived we were shown to our table and there was a set of three books ( supposedly from Belle's library) with an artificial rose on it. Artificial, you would think that for $69 each they would give us a single rose to take home. Children's packages were available for $29.The staff were lovely, attentive and helpful, the table was set with Christina Re crockery (a cheap bone China) with no pieces matching. This was disappointing. Where was Chips and Mrs Potts and Luminers the candelabra? Inside our tea cup a lovely red napkin was folded into the shape of a rose but as far as Belle goes, that was it.Our drinks arrived, unlimited tea,coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks were available and champaign was an additional $10 or $20 a glass. They filled the table and I wondered where the food would fit.Our three tiered trays of delights arrived and were placed in the middle of the crowded table. It was my daughters birthday and sparklers were in her strawberry cream puff. A nice touch.The food was lovely, fresh and tasty. Strawberries were shaped into beautiful roses and a red and white theme was across the three tiers of food. My favourite item was a white chocolate globe filled with white mousse and the roast beef gourmet sandwich( although very small).We didn't finish the food as it was very sweet with few savouries, so they gave us a doggie box.It was a lovely experience but I couldn't help but think, Beauty and the Beast, there is so much they could have done, but didn't. All in all, a nice high tea, lovely staff but far from my favourite. I was pleased to see that they did offer a 10% discount to Accor members.Will I come again, no, there are always more high teas and I am in search of the very best the world has to offer. I loved, the Ritz in London, the Burj al Arab in Dubai, Angelina's and Laduree in Paris, Raffles in Singapore, The casino in Melbourne and the Weston in Sydney. These I will return too."

"You can't help, but satisfied with a 'Kitchen von Jamie Experience. Jamie, master chef, hidden in the 'Engine room' to work his magic, and his beautiful bubbly wife Daniela works the helmet from the front, making for a formidables team. Always accommodating, they will adapt their menu elements. But above all, you can't beat their friendly, hospital nature. I think it would be difficult to beat Jamie's passion for what he does. It was said that if you do for a life what you are most passionate, then every day is a holiday. Jamie is one to envy that he is on vacation all year round and we, his happy customers, get to enjoy his passion on a plate! It's been 12 months since Daniela and Jamie first fired in Maroubra. A young couple that 'vergib'. They are to congratulate their success and earn all the support they receive. Go on to D J!"
