"We’ve been coming to Cafe del Mar for years the service has always been secondary to the setting so take bad service with a pinch of salt how we today was a classic that we just had to walk away Two girls managing the place and when I walked up to the bar they were arguing over receipts in front of a customer I think one slapped the hand of the other when one of them approached me I asked for a couple of ice cream sundaes she started s rolling her eyes like teenager clearly not wanting to make them it was unbelievable ! I’ve never experienced such sullen, rude and blatantly lazy service I told her not to bother and walked away although I probably should have stayed so she was forced to make up our order but by leaving she got her way and could sit there and go back to doing nothing (the place was very quiet particularly in comparison to other bars on the strip) the other waitress to her credit apologised for the behaviour of lazy waitress. I understand that coming to the end of covid places are under staffed and struggle to cope with sudden demand however these bars are offering a menu that the staff they’re clearly reluctant to fulfil so why not just remove them and offer drinks only (cafe del Mar doesn’t offer cooked food only drinks and ice creams) The staff will change each season so will try again next year however I’d like the owner to read and understand how much business gets turned away they clearly need to invest more staff and decent ones at that if they want to remain viable !"
