"Passed through on my walk of the Essex Way in the May day bank holiday weekend. The previous 2 pubs I had tried were closed and I was hankering for an evening meal and a rest so I came to the Windmill not realising how fancy it was! Despite that and my less than ideal attire, the waitress was as an an angel to a weary traveller and found me a seat. After a bread basket with a deliciously salty spread, a cauliflower risotto and of course a chilly pint, a man on the edge walked another few miles or so into the night and slept happily in the woods with a smile on his face. I will have to return one day the classiness of the place mixed with its quaint but very highly refined pub vibe is exquisitely peaceful and the food is like dining on dreams. Only giving it 5 stars because 1000 isn't an option."

"Fantastic experience! The restaurant gives cool modern vibes and we loved the ambience as soon as we went through the door. We also enjoyed the music in the background. As far as food is concerned, the marriage of aromas was really extraordinary. Everything was excellent, we loved every single dish absolutely to the smallest detail. "Can't say enough great things about this restaurant. Came to celebrate a birthday and was not disappointed. Many people eat, but still intimate. Espresso martinis were delicious, Focaccia bread and tapenade were some of the best I tasted, meatballs had great taste and red sauce not sour. smuggest the bucatini and finish with the tiramisu. Service was super friendly, professional and made us feel at home. Great night."

"Really enjoyed our time at Anderson’s. I had the fillet steak, it was incredible and the accompaniments of green beans, smashed new potatoes with garlic and cream and the blue cheese and port sauce were perfect too. We also ordered the nose to tail, which was exceptional. Drinks were good too, there was a range to choose from. It was a Monday night so relatively quiet and relaxing in the restaurant, we were generally seen to very quickly by the waitresses so no complaints on the service. High quality food in a lovely setting."
