"Less than ideal experience. Had a reservation and was seated fairly quickly then it went downhill. Waited about a half hour for a server and then only got one because I flagged a waiter. My husband’s order was wrong, He didn’t even eat and was originally charged, charge was taken off after he complained. My daughter’s order was originally wrong. When the correct order was received, it was obvious that they took the sandwich that was originally on it and replaced it with the chicken tenders she ordered. You can see the pesto sauce on her plate. Tables that came in after us were served quicker than us and the “manager” made excuses instead of apologizing. There were a lot of excuses made but no real apology or resolution. First time in years we were tempted to walk out without paying. Shame too, has good potential."

"My crab cake was just okay. It had a sourness to it. Maybe too much lemon mixed in? The risotto wasn't as creamy, as it was sticky. The vegetables were limp and overcooked. I didn't eat them any more than to taste them. The quantity of food was very good. The peanut butter porter was outstanding!! Great little waitress. Very friendly. I liked what the menu offered; American fare, nothing unapproachable. The soups were good. The pimento cheese spread was good and a nice free starter. I'd go back. Although the food wasn't brag worthy, it certainly was good. A decent, friendly, clean, moderately priced restaurant in the Haymarket area. The name threw me off, though. Culinary, to me, meant it would be unique and maybe high end style meals. Underground also, to me, said something unique and maybe even so good I'd want to keep it a secret so the place wouldn't get so crowded and I could always get it. The food was more on a par with Applebees. Still. A decent place downtown."

"Found this place while on vacation, and it didn’t disappoint! Drinks were very good! Dinner was great, we had the lamb lollipops and the southwest chicken sandwich. My daughter raved about the brownie sundae as well! Service was excellent as well!"

"The positives are definitely Food was amazing. The service was extremely friendly and a joy to be around. The atmosphere was exactly what you want in a breakfast diner.The negatives are the servers need more help and support running food. Even large serving trays would be better than 5 trips for 3 people’s food. I would have given 5 stars based on the kindness of the staff and the delicious food, but managment has to take the lack of support for the staff and the biggest upset was no changing table for my baby. What am I supposed to do get on the floor? Change her in the dinning area? It’s rude and inconsiderate to families."
