"Thonglor Thai is really a hidden Thai delight, an oasis in a set of shops off Gordon street Maribyrnong. I’ve been coming for years as no other Thai restaurant is as authentic as here. I’m a Penang curry lover and with coconut rice it’s delicious....Every time we say we will have something different but always go back to our favourites We love the noodles, they fry full sized fish to perfection and my go to entrees are spring rolls and the prawn fritters. They do a desert of fried banana fritters we shared with home made coconut ice cream It’s Devine but filling. Generous serves made with quality fresh ingredients. I’ve never had to send anything back. The premises are fitted out to Thai design and the staff really friendly Highly recommend and will eat here again and again"

"Sadly I do not have a lot (if any) of positives to write about this restaurant. My family and I including our two young teenage boys went here for lunch on a Friday. The restaurant is well appointed and somewhat flash we realised as soon as we entered that we had over committed ourselves, but still we continued. I was so disappointed to learn that a $30 minimum per person must be spent including for children I wish I had of known this before we entered the establishment. Anyway, again we persevered the kids each ordered a small glass bottle of coke at an eye watering $7.50 each! I then went through the menu and chose some dishes I thought may be suitable for the whole family. I have previously eaten at amazing yum cha restaurants where it is hustle and bustle with trolleys and you choose as you go this was not that, and nor, unfortunately was the food palatable. In fact the food was so unpalatable we left hungry and disappointed. The ribs were super fatty, crispy fish skin was so salty you could barely eat it, the meatball was tasteless and the rest was no better. I truly think there are better places to choose…."
