"When in Valle D’Aosta I expected a certain kind of setting, quality of food and selection. I found the Baita Ermitage via a Slow Food App that listed the restaurants in the area that were part of the Presidio Slow Food. We usually eat well in the restaurants we find listed here, but nothing that makes me want to come back for more in the future. When we finally arrived at the Ermitage all the way up the mountain, I was not sure if the night drive from Entreves was worth it. Upon entering, the owner who, despite the packed restaurant was all smiles and sat us immediately at our reserved table greeted us. The staff were kind and patient, the ambient was rustic and warm and the primi were tasty! We tired 3 different primi in two just to be absolutely sure, or really because we couldn’t choose since they were so tempting and it turned out to be exactly the experience we were looking for. I recommend the gnocchi!"

"If this is only the 41st best restaurant in the town I can't wait to try the first 40. This place has a Michelin star and it is well deserved. The atmosphere and setting is world class and the service is even better. I ate here for a business meeting and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. I had the lamb pot stickers followed by the filet which was rare, breaded, and then fried. It was great, as was the dessert. The wine selection is also world class. Highly recommended."

"On our first run down the mountain to Zerotta I spied this little place on the right of the piste. So next time we skied all the way down we stopped of for some food. We asked for the Duck tagliatelle, but unfortunately it was all gone. But the guy suggested the venison and we were not disappointed. It was so full of flavour and very filling and washed down by a carafe of the house red wine and great espresso to finish. The meal, service and location made us go back a couple of days later and this time we had the Duck tagliatelle, once again we where given a dish full of flavour. This is a great place to lunch if the sun is out. It also has a lovely fire inside when weather is not so warm."
