"For those of you old enough to have started way back exploring the delights of France using this man as your guide you will appreciate what a find this is. Old France at its best. The food was basic, wholesome and delicious. The quality of ingredients for the price of the menu was incredible. The starter buffet included both old favourites and new twists and was copious in its variety and quantity. The steak actually tasted of beef; somewhat of a rarity in Britain these days unless one pays a lot more. The puddings were traditional but very nice and mostly faites a la maison. The welcome was genuine and, whilst not being pretentious, it made one feel comfortable and at ease. The house wine, complete with the menu, was very palatable and I have tasted far worse in bottles at other places. The bill was probably the biggest surprise of the visit and would have been acceptable had it been twenty euros more. A definite find and we have meant to dine there several times before but never got round to it but will definitely do so when next in Chatillon. Even considering a few days break on their demi or pension complet offer which seems amazing. they have been there 35 years and I can see why they have survived in a very competitive market. Vive la France."
