"We had a blast. Bravo to the boss behind the stove. We would have liked him to come see us to congratulate him. At first looking at the map we weren't very tempted but we said we'd see. Butternut puree and roast pork... A treat! These dishes which seem so common have really been sublimated. The waiters are fast and efficient (no endless waiting) and very friendly despite a full restaurant. We will come back Food: 5"

"After sitting down, it took an hour for our pizzas to arrive. This on an average early evening in August when only half the restaurant was occupied. People at other tables had at least the same wait. I explained that as a diabetic, it was...necessary for me to eat regularly to maintain my blood sugar levels. This advanced our order a little, but if we knew the area, we would have left for an alternative. The pizza was as ordered, reasonable quality, and of average price."

"Not particularly Italian in decor, but definitely South European, Del Arte is a nice (family) restaurant in the outskirts of Niort, France. The menu includes various traditional Italian dishes e.g. pasta, risotto and pizza though in my opinion it misses one of the most important ones: the Lasagna al forno. Lasagnes Pesto Chèvre et Épinards (spinach lasagne with pesto and goats cheese no meat) just doesn't cut if for me. Portions are very generous (also for the kids) and you're bound to leave the place stuffed. Highly recommend the Pasta Degustazione a set of three dishes (spinach lasagna, Gorgonzola ravioli and salmon pies) except if you're meat lover. Then you're safer with the Osso Buco, a burger or plain ol'e Spaghetti Bolognese. Nice wide selection of Italian desserts including panna cotta and tiramisu plus some French e.g. profiteroles and creme brulee. Service was average. Staff not very fast and it seemed to be the adolescents sons of the owners hence English was challenging for them. Very kid friendly. A few minutes after seating the waiter brought some Kiddy Bags with coloring utensils and a quiz booklet. Kids' orders seemed prioritized to minimize waiting. Prices were fair, so good value for your buck. Everybody left happy and satisfied."
