"Our first evening in Bayonne, wandering back to our hotel, we noticed Kitchen Dada. We had already eaten and it was nearly closing time but the owner happily chatted with us about her menu, the decor in her newly opened restaurant and her recommendations for other places to eat. We came back for breakfast a couple of days later. A lovely meal, an easy mixing of her Irish roots with the cuisine of her adopted country. A special treat for me was the thoughtful selection of teas available. Great way to start our day."

"When we arrived at the bayonne station, we decided to eat in this restaurant. we were very welcome, the hotel is very clean and well decorated. Everything's home. caramel butter crêpe salted a pleasure. I hope I can come back to enjoy good pancakes."

"This is a very small restaurant with a limited menu, but what they deliver very good food. The restaurant seats about 28 in a very tight space. Over half the seating is on the sidewalk. Very nice view of the river and the old picturesque buildings on the other side. I had a seafood risotto with scallops and shrimp that was very tasty. My wife had the burger which was a thick beef patty on a delicious tomato sauce base, covered by a melted lamb cheese and a potato pancake. The meat was delicious and cooked perfectly. Outstanding non traditional type burger. I rated based on a wide variety of restaurants ( Michelin to fast food) and it was a little cramped with a limited wine selection. However, it was a great value and I would certainly recommend. Also can't beat the view."

"We stopped in here as their first diners of the evening, very early by French standards, but we had a couple of toddlers in tow.We were able to sit on the riverside and it was stunning, there are no cars on that side, and the barrier along the water is far safer for kids, so that was a big plus! They brought out the kids food promptly, followed by our starters. The prawn salad was a highlight; the honeyed crumble was such a unique addition - enjoyed heartily by the whole table, everyone had to try it! The dressing was delicious too, a great start to the meal.Our mains were in typical French style, simple, but yummy.I was a little underwhelmed with the pain perdu for dessert - the bread itself was lacking, and none of the three sauces it was served with managed to elevate it.However, the odd choice of the night; cheesecake crepes, were a hit.They'd smeared cheesecake on a crepe, rolled it up and called it dessert - another little quirk in the menu for sure, but another little triumph."
