"Great place to eat breakfast with family and friends! We've eaten here a number of times when visiting Blacksburg and have enjoyed it every time. The mix of flavors and options both taste great and present well too. Note that the menu does not contain meat, but that's never bothered us even though we're regular breakfast meat eaters. The atmosphere is very relaxed, always busy a little loud if that matters to you. Overall, a great spot to eat and enjoy time together."

"Gillie’s is primarily vegetarian, but all of those veg meals have several vegan substitutes like tofu scramble, vegan cheese, and vegan potatoes (which are AMAZING). I had the potatoes, which again, are great and I confirmed they aren’t cooked in butter; and the buckwheat pancakes with maple syrup (no vegan butter option but they have fruit you can purchase too). I really enjoyed it all and had it with a coffee and oatmilk. I’ll definitely be back!"

"This was our first time here, and we had a lovely evening. We only planned to have a drink and then go elsewhere for dinner, but once we shared a panini and some artichokes, we stayed put. We tried every wine flight except the sweet one, and White Barrell has some stand out varietals. The cab franc and petit verdot are particularly tasty. Perhaps almost as good as the wine is the house-made balsamic vinegar; that alone makes a visit here worthwhile. The service was excellent: we didn't feel hurried, and when we needed anything, we were promptly attended to. Can't wait to come back soon! White Barrell is a delightful addition to downtown."
