"Very friendly staff. Dynamite French toast. Efficient service. We were very impressed by how everyone was on the staff... all had a smile and seemed really happy to be there. It's been a long time since I've experienced happy food service employees. That was my day. The pancakes were average, the waffles above average, and the French toast was exceptionally good. My wife enjoyed her omlette and there was also a decent children's menu."

"I wanted to like the Hilton Head Diner. What is better than a true diner experience? The atmosphere was reasonably true to the genre, with a nice counter and decent booth seating. The menu was extensive and seemed reasonably priced. The service was also very good, with a coffee served quickly. Good expectations. Unfortunately the food let the place down. I had the country fried steak and eggs for breakfast. The ‘steak’ seemed to be a breaded patty of some indeterminate ‘meat’ that was taken out of the freezer shortly before cooking. The sausage gravy was goopy. The eggs and hash browns were fine. The rye toast was good. These last items took the food rating from a two to a three, but if scrambled eggs and toast is redeeming your food, well…… If I go back, I’ll try something else."

"I stopped in today and had the special omelet with bacon, Gouda and Granny Smith apples. Served with home fries and biscuit, light and fluffy. Followed with a blueberry dump cake, excellent and not too sweet. Coffee refills included. Took home the special of the day, eggplant parmigiana, will see how that fairs. All around $28 plus 20% tip. Not fancy, basic, eat in or out. Today it poured, so inside."
