"A few years ago I was already a guest in this historic brick house, which belongs to the complex around the St. Aegidien Church (one of the famous 7 towers of Lübeck. At that time, however, there was also the Cafe Sofa of a non-profit association, which neither disappointed nor enthusiastic at that time. Meanwhile, the sofas have been removed from the ground floor on the northeast corner of St. Aegidien Square and unfortunately have to announce its closure. In October 2021, however, they were again filled with a cafe offer, which is still called Cafe Convention. A start-up of moderate reopening of blood-young self-employed, which would also fit perfectly into the meat-hauer road I mentioned so often, which has also become the pole for small catering with Berlin moderate Hippster Flair. But I was rarely disappointed when trying out these new places, so I don't want to miss the sometimes exaggerated cafe convention and myself or myself. Carpe dismissed this celebration in relevant social media. At a late lunch I came here for a first impression. Outside view. Seats under the open sky at the Aegidienkirche. But one thing can be found at the beginning of the Convention: With the Lübeck population, they are constantly enjoying high urge and encouragement. The guest room or free-seat on the corner of the Aegidien Church is not found on working days and not on weeks and holidays. There it takes very bad weather conditions that guests prefer to get stuck in their own 4 walls, as it should be funny on this North German early autumn day. Instead, in the interior itself, there was a cafe of unusual early afternoons full of the bear and I was glad to be able to get a little table so spontaneously. This is especially a good sign of the quality offered here, as the cafe is not located at any point on a tourist main street in the old town. It will only be noticeable if you are really exploring Lübeck's city centre in detail, or if you are part of the local population that may eventually get here by chance or by mouth propaganda. So I would say that an outstanding percentage of the high number of guests arriving here is already regular customers who are sure of a good offer. The counter. Part of the guest area. The atmosphere and thus the ambience play a significant role here, but they have a significant influence on the well-being of the guests. In this area the interior of the listed house has been kept quite sober. The counter is also spatially the heartpiece and is located between the two antic columns located in the middle of the room. Color has not been added to the walls, only to the right of the counter thrones the white K as an emblem of the convention huge on black background. This black white contrast has also been maintained at the tables, which are equally distributed in both dyeings as well as the simple, black and white wooden chairs. The latter are supplemented with specimens in natural wood optics. Other equipment elements are limited to plenty of filled beverage shelves and delightfully also a few pot plants for a more lively touch. Overall, for my personal feeling, a clean and good interior was created that makes you warm less. Toilets are located a staircase further down in the UG, were clean in itself, although not the most modern, which can be easily renovated in such a listed room. It is therefore understandable that the outer area is always filled under the trees of the church square if the weather conditions are not too bad. However, it must also be mentioned here that the space offer is very simple, round 2 persons folding tables with folding chairs In beer garden quality, which on the headstone paver certainly still have a great wobble and tilting potential. The culinary offer is mainly based on 2 columns: coffee specialities and breakfasts or Snack food. Nevertheless, a showcase at the counter also grants a small cake and bakery selection. However, a cafe, which is only connected to a bakery, does not really remind the “convent”, which is of course also due to the already described spatial relationship between theke and guest area and the presentation. This means that the Cafe Convention is truly to be called a return and dwelling location and not a Take Away Station. This orientation fits very well into what the previous Cafe Sofa once wanted to offer: a place of meeting to start the day or its early hours. According to Facebook, Instagram and Co., one is of course especially proud of his barista skills on the altar called coffee maker, as well as his naturally homemade sourdough bread, which is brought with love and time to a quality that should lie several stages above the supermarket or chain offer. As you know from most cafes, breakfast is also available in various types of events in the Convention to offer every taste and hunger a suitable option (3,9 12,9 €. This ranges, for example, from the simplest variant of croissant and jam in the Parisian variant to an eco bowl with yogurt (also vegan possible, granola, fruits, nuts and maple syrup. In between, Cashew Pancakes also offer variety, such as the Easy Avocado Breakfast made from bread, avocado and eggplant cream, as well as additional butter and, of course, a combination of organic scrambled eggs and sourdough bread. In addition, his homemade bread in the Stullen column is refined with various editions (11.5 13.9 €, for example in Funghi with mushrooms, feta, roasted sunflower seeds and mushroom fresh cheese, or in Pagels Pesto with radishes, herb salad and garlic beans. Also the meat lovers don't have to worry about it, because they place a lot of liver cheese, mustard and organic eggs on bread. For me, however, this first visit should be a global classic of graders for quality and kitchen crafts. So I was hoping at Egg Benedict, contrary to the advertising in the menu, for a fried organic egg (and not mirror eggs on a fresh bread with avocado cream and naturally homemade sauce Hollandaise. This made the price of €11.9 for my feeling at least await. For this reason, when ordering, I simply asked if one could not prepare the eggs according to the classic, so that the anticipation of a creamy egg yolk could still be breasted. Unfortunately, I could not fulfill this wish, which I would also like to add a short section to the service. Full score should have had such flexibility. Three young people took care of the high guest performance in the restaurant. A young lady took care of the tresses, while two men really turned well in the room. Nevertheless, they always remained friendly and I was also very fixedly supplied with order, service and payment. Exercise and rutiny so they definitely radiated; at other tables they were also well communicated in English. It should also be mentioned positively that when serving, it was obligatory to ask for the desire of salt and pepper, whereupon real mills were also brought. From the base, nothing can be put out at the service, but a piece remains up as mentioned. ; After not even 10 minutes, the following plate stood in front of me Egg Benedict Bio Spiegelei on freshly baked sourdough bread with avocado cream and sauce Hollandaise. One thing certainly shows the picture when compared to the mills: there was a tidy cavent man on the black plate. As mentioned, pride is on his homemade sourdough bread, but there were fears that this will be a more dry matter. Ordinary rocket, fine beetroots, as well as a more decorative cocktail tomato half and a piece of passion fruit also promised less juicy support, as the equally thin avocado screed. However, I actually felt that the fruit was called a peppery addition, but in the meantime it provided a sweet, sour variety. By the way, this also makes the black and white sesame with some crisp and nutty. Apart from that, rocket and beds were located in the standard range from quality, the latter even slightly dry. But now back to the fear mentioned at the outset, which I would like to clarify with another picture. The inner values count: fluffy crumb meets liquid egg yolk. The incision of bread, as well as the impression on the palate, revealed that it is right to be proud of its own bakery. A red crust surrounded a wonderfully ported, airy crumb that was as far away from dryness as this rainy day from dry summer. It really convinced me completely and more avocado cream I would not have needed because the pure taste of bread itself was a real pleasure. To this end, the kitchen showed that she really dominates the mirror, if she didn't want to present the poetry spontaneously. The white perfectly cooked, the yellow beautifully shiny and creamy crumbled the airy bread really very well. Last but not least, the stripe art with the Hollandaise was certainly foreseeable in view of the “hippen Flairs”. However, this was sufficient for the required fatality in this classic. At least honestly, it was admitted that this Hollandaise is not homemade. Fortunately, this did not prove to be a tasteful disadvantage, especially given the good leading actor bread and egg. With his “Egg Benedict” the “Convent” really delivered me an absolutely satisfactory bread time. In detail, however, it should not be ignored that, for example, some vegetabile co-players (Ruccola, Bete did not convince with full freshness, the Hollandaise was purchased and the egg could not be shown the poched classical. Thus, the sheet to the PLV closes that, in view of €11.9 from all categories, unfortunately, the greatest deduction must be preserved for me. From this, as usual, there is to summarize the following for me: The historic brick house, together with the Aegidienkirche located in the neighborhood, naturally sprays a special, historical atmosphere that breathes alive and should give the guest a good and relaxing atmosphere. With regard to the interior of the restaurant, a simple and sober furniture and colour equipment were limited. Here I would find a little more fabric or colour personally even better to also take the cooler of the old walls to the guest room (e.g. in the predecessor Cafe Sofa, this was integrated by just those padded seating possibilities. The service of the young men convinced with attention and speed while at the same time kindness. As I said, it should have been the top note that there was a certain spontaneousity in the “Egg Benedict”. With this bread meal I ordered, it was possible to prepare a joy with bread, egg and cream. In view of the price of €11.9, with the waiver of the Pochier Cremigkeit in favor of the simpler Spiegelei variant, as well as the purchased Hollandaise then still remains a bit to the maximum on the route. Thus, in the end, the price called was somewhat too high for my feeling. Summa Summarum can be understood and justified by the good supply in the Cafe Convention, so that I would recommend it, especially every bakery fan. However, it is honestly not an unrestricted hymn of praise."

"The restaurant Gutenberger's guestroom is considered to be a different use, just as one would not come to a German-Italian restaurant without the seating outside the door. In it we found in the shell of the charm of a re-functional industrial building his interesting interplay with the variety of antiques, pictures, sculptures, chairs, tables (our evening bread table was a shaft), even the double-flung door to the neighboring room was an original piece with a G each etched or ground in the glass. We took place at one of the small tables and were received in the nu by a flash waiter with dark NaMuMa. His smile was felt despite the mask, his eyes and his friendly way brought it well and credible. From him we got the menu immediately. She was really small or kept short, so just to say clearly. This, in turn, reads our decision to make our evening bread easier. As a drink, we all took a blonde hop cup, 500 milliliters of kings. It was warm outside and we were thirsty.... The rimfully filled thick-walled humps with white flower came to the table super fast. After flying over the map we both decided to a small fresh salad, it was also fresh and crisp. After the recommendation of our friendly and very attentive waiter, the actual evening bread was the carving with mushroom cream sauce on roast potatoes. The scavenger then fried as two scavengers, delicious crispy. The sauce was pleasantly served in an extra bowl. She was equipped with fresh champions. Bratkartoffeln were homemade, really handmade roast potatoes one could recognize it from cut, slice thickness, tanning, worting and even their “total circumstances”. Onions and chives rounded off. The thirst-related ordered second beer had only little space, meat and potatoes had to put together very nicely... We have oriented with tasteful maximum saturation feeling and the recommendation of our waiter and not regretted it. There are 5 stars"
