"As this place was on a direct line between where we were staying and the beach, it wasn't too hard to notice it and realise that it always seemed to be buzzing with customers. The menu looked long and I don't always take this as a good sign in a restaurant, but in fact it was quite cleverly constructed to offer a wide choice without overburdening the kitchen's resources. We turned up on a Sunday evening, having booked a couple of hours earlier, but despite the fact that the place was heaving, we didn't see anyone turned away during the course of the evening. Service was friendly but very professional, and as always it's a joy to watch a few staff handling a lot of covers (I didn't count them) so efficiently a rare site in the UK. We started with a shared platter of smoked fish, so nothing too demanding for the kitchen there. I'm still to be convinced that prawns actually benefit from being smoked, but all the other fish on the platter was delicious. As we hadn't had any this holiday, we both opted for moules frites (one mariniere, one a la creme) boring, I know, but we didn't regret it. They were deliciously fresh and cooked exactly right. The only problem we had was with the QUANTITY! If served moules at the same price in England, I'd expect to get about one third of the amount. Clare heroically nearly made it to the end of her mariniere, but with the handicap of the rich sauce I only got about two thirds of the way through. After that, dessert was a no no, which was a pity as they looked pretty spectacular. The restaurant definitely benefits from its site, overlooking a sandy cove and across the estuary mouth, but it's pleasing to find that they don't simply use this to get away with mediocrity, as so many places might."

"We are on this local side. in google maps it appears as bar (cocktail glass icon) and not as restaurant. we have eaten very well and enjoyed the beautiful view. it is very quiet and they can really enjoy it."
