"We visited El Chaalotito on the recommendation of friends and were delightfully surprised.The service was prompt and friendly and they have a very interesting menu from savoury through to desert Crepes and waffles. They have both a Spanish and English menu so there is no problem in deciding what to have and more than one visit will be necessary to enjoy the selections offeredIt was inexpensive and very food value"

"Dass man in kleinen Restaurants, die Speisen frisch zubereiten, manchmal etwas länger auf das Essen warten muss, ist bekannt und kein Problem. Was uns jedoch heute in "El Terrible" widerfahren ist, war eine pure Unverschämtheit. Zu dritt bestellten wir Salate und zwei Hauptspeisen ... Nachdem wir die erste Runde Getränke beendet hatten und die Vorspeisen noch nicht in Sicht waren, baten wir die Kellnerin zumindest um etwas Brot, das wir dann auch bekamen. Im Restaurant, das acht Tische hat, waren vier besetzt. Nach ca. 45 min bekamen wir Salat, bis die Hauptspeisen auf den Tisch kam, verging ebensoviel Zeit. All das wäre zu ertragen gewesen ... Während wir aber endlich essen konnten, kam der Besitzer und Koch an unseren Tisch und fragte uns, ob alles in Ordnung sein. Wir sagten ihm, dass das Essen sehr schmackhaft sei, wir aber sehr lange hätten warten müssen. Daraufhin begann er eine unsägliche Diskussion, bezichtigte uns der Lüge (Brot habe von Anfang an auf dem Tisch gestanden) und behauptete in allen anderen Restaurants in Zipolite würde es viel länger dauern, wenn wir es so eilig hätten, sollten wir Tacos essen gehen ... Er konnte überhaupt nicht aufhören sich aufzuregen - Offensichtlich wollte er seinem Namen Ehre erweisen! Es gibt in Zipolite etliche Restaurants, die bei gleichem Preisniveau genauso gut kochen und zudem einen freundlichen Service haben. In allen anderen Restaurants, die wir hier bisher besucht haben, bekommt man zudem ein frisches Glas, wenn man ein zweites oder drittes Glas Wein bestellt. Im "Terrible" hält man dies offensichtlich für unnötig. Ganz egal, wie verschmiert das Glas ist, es wird vom Tisch genommen, an der Bar erneut gefüllt und dem Gast wieder hingestellt. - Never again!"

"We stopped to breakfast and the food and service was amazing. we ordered the chilequiles and entomatadas, and both were great, but the chilequiles really bleeded us away. we also have a plate of obstinate that tasted so fresh. highly recommended!"

"Talking about coffee very well done guys, you know what you are selling but talking about service you totally sucks, you delivery every coffee in different time when we ordered 3 different coffe and the last one my friends finished their coffee and mine arrived....And you weren’t busy. And they changed the presentational V60 for mine. You really need to work on service but your coffee is amazing by itself."

"Very stylish interieur, spacious, warm and attentive service. they can order a lot of small tacos with meat that are grilled directly in the open kitchen. it may seem like a small part, but it is cheap and they can keep the order of things until they are full. it is a big menu! I had no gringas because I didn't like to be in my tacos, but the local Oaxaca cheese is like mostly sweetheart cheese, but creamier. I've eaten here for a solo lunch and an evening dinner. delicious eating, stylish ambiente, but welcoming. and the truth is said, I am trying to order the blind on the Dessert menu to honor my Jewish family roots in Mexico City!"
