"I’m not sure if our bad experience was due to the beginning of restaurant week, lack or staff, or mismanagement. It took over an hour to get cocktails and drinks that were ordered as soon as we were seated at 6:45. Also, they were out of so many items listed on the menu…ginger beer, Sauvignon blanc, Riesling’s, and at one point ICE that I was shocked this place received such high ratings. Plus, when I made the reservation for 4 people on a Friday evening at 6:45, I was NOT expecting to be seated amongst a large party of 30+ people who completely backlogged the kitchen and had the waiters running around with plates of food while not knowing which tables/customers they were for. Hector our waiter was completely overwhelmed and kept coming to our table telling us he would check on our drinks which two of us received but my other friend didn’t. Let’s talk a second about the food. The chicken and waffles, deviled eggs, and hushpuppies were amazing. However, the shrimp and grits….were horrible. The grits were dry and grainy, almost like eating cornmeal rice. I’m not sure if this is how this restaurant prepares grits but we noticed quite a few people not even eat them. It’s truly unfortunate we had such a bad experience. I was just blown away by the lack of preparation and felt the only concern they had was “packing the restaurant for money” because they never slowed down the number of people being seated. Just an all around bad experience. I’m glad the manager adjusted our check to reflect the level of service we received but I don’t think this is a restaurant I’ll visit again."

"Despite some of the reviews I read, we decided to try this place anyway since we had a coupon. One of the reviews had indicated that there were many crab shells in the crab cake brioche but I still wanted to try it anyway. There were indeed a few crab shells in my brioche but not nearly as many as the other diner had so perhaps they are improving in this area? My husband had the pork chop and he loved it. It was huge and juicy so you might want to try it for yourself."
