"The staff was amazing, very attentive, and professional. I had the Wolfgang Puck Pinot Noir, which was very enjoyable. Our appetizer was the Fritto Misto, Crispy Calamari and Shrimp. I wish I had known that fritto misto means battered and fried. It was well prepared with a very light batter and fried to perfection, with delicious dipping sauces. However, I would have chosen something lighter if I had known. That said, the portion was unexpectedly large and is easily enough for two or even three people to share as an appetizer. Our entrees were the Pan Seared Alaskan Halibut and the Grilled Colorado Lamb Chops. The lamp chops, while pricey, were very good. However, the halibut seemed to lack flavor and was too dry, in my opinion. The vegetables were nicely cooked with good flavor. The restaurant is very large, and on the night, we were there, it was very noisy, even though it was not at capacity. Prices are relatively high, and while I didn’t expect large dishes, I was expecting something more elevated or innovative. Given that and the noisy atmosphere, I don’t see myself trying this restaurant in the future."

"First, let's be honest about the venue the El Cortez Hotel. Clearly this is a very old hotel that has seen better days. There is nothing special about this place and if you are used to nice surroundings you may get the urge to just turn around and leave. BUT Siegel's 1941 is the absolute best surprise. Again, old decor, not the best looking restaurant. But the prime rib is amazing and the baked potato with all the fixings, is just as delicious. Normally the service is just meh. We tolerate it only because the prime rib is so delicious at a very reasonable price. But during this visit the service was surprisingly amazing, as well! Our server was Myra. In no time we had a menu, placed our order and she was back with our drinks. Shortly after, our order arrived, and again, it was absolutely delicious. But I can not say enough about Myra, our server. She was polite, professional, responsive, and provided the epitome of good service. If you are patient, can deal with the less than stellar surroundings and enjoy delicious prime rib at a very reasonable price. Siegel's 1941 may be for you. And who knows, if you are lucky, you just may get Myra for a server and then you'll have both a delicious meal and good service! My wife and I will continue going back, again and again!"

"The French onion soup was delicious, just like at Mon Ami Gabi. The restaurant should be embarrassed about their charcuterie board. The bread was stale, the fig jam was runny, the cheeses did not pair well with the meats, and what was the mustard supposed to compliment? You are located in the Paris hotel on the strip. I would expect your charcuterie board to be much better."
