"Good as it might be, traditional Austrian food can get a bit heavy after a few days. Akakiko is a chain of restaurants offering Asian dishes that offer a lighter alternative to pork and dumplings. There are several in Vienna, but if you are visiting...Schönbrunn you could head towards the Hietzing gate and from there you are within a few minutes walk of Akakiko on the village square Am Platz . The menu is extensive, and offers dishes to suit most tastes. The sushi is always fresh, and all the hot dishes (that I 've tried) have have been delicious! It 's a great place to eat on a hot day or sultry evening in summer as they have a shady courtyard which is always cool and very quiet. The service has always in my experience been very friendly, and helpful in choosing dishes if one is not familiar with the cuisine. Prices are very reasonable and the portions generous. We live in Hietzing and eat there quite frequently. They also do food to go if you want to take something to he park and have a picnic. If you happen to be shopping in the Mariahilfe Strasse, Akakiko have a rooftop restaurant above the department store called Gerngross. Great views across the city!"

"Nach so einem Brush Lettering Kurs kann man ganz schön hungrig werden... Auf der Suche nach einem leichten späten Snack sind wir im Akakiko im Gerngross gelandet.Das Ambiente ist typisch für diese Kette, wobei es ja hier eine unbeschreiblich tolle Aussicht von der Dachterrasse gibt. Aber erstens war's dafür zu kalt und zweitens auch schon zu spät. Also haben wir uns drinnen einen Platz gesucht. Die Bedienung kam so schnell, wir waren noch gar nicht mit unseren Überlegungen fertig. Dafür hat sie sich danach Zeit gelassen.Das Essen war relativ zügig am Tisch.Ich hatte das kleine Sake Sushi Set. 1 Maki hatte ich schon gegessen, das fehlt auf dem Foto.Es gibt nichts auszusetzen, das Sushi war ok, der Lachs auch recht zart, der Reis gut mariniert.Optisch in Ordnung. Für eine Kette ist's perfekt.Hier sollte man unbedingt im Sommer eine Pause einlegen, wenn die Dachterrasse geöffnet ist. Der Ausblick über Wien kann was!"
