"Two of us tried out Le Rendez Vous when out shopping in Carcassonne. I went for the Express menu three courses €13.00) and my companion took the Menu du Jour €15.80 for three courses). My starter of salad des gesiers was served on the plate with my mains, boeuf griller. This would have been fine except for the fact that my steak was almost cold by the time I'd finished my delicious salad. I'll know next time and will go for the menu du jour. The dessert was fromage blanc au miel. I'm not a lover of honey, so asked for it to be left off. My portion of fromage blanc was generous and luscious. My companion's menu du jour comprised a starter of carpaccio de boeuf lots of wafer thin slices of beef served with lettuce and chunks of lemon. The piece de boeuf griller was cooked French medium which is more medium rare rather than medium to well done. It was gorgeous and a very generous portion. Both this beef and mine on the express came with potato chunks. The dessert choice for which my companion opted was assiette de fromage this consisted of four pieces of cheese of different types which included a very mild blue cheese. We ate indoors in the air conditioning although there were a good number of tables outdoors but the parasols didn't cover all of them from the sun. We didn't have coffee but saw it being served very nicely to other customers. The staff were very pleasant, the restaurant space was laid out with sufficient gaps between the tables. It was a very nice experience. Not romantic or for a special night out, but very nice for a pleasant, generous lunch at a good price."

"We stopped in to sample the violet tea that they were selling in the shop. We felt the sale price was a bit high for tea we had never heard of and had not sampled, so before purchasing we asked if they sold it in the café. Despite it not being on display nor on the menu, the patroness assured us that we could have a pot.The tea was unremarkable, as was the service. Staff spoke French and English."

"This apartment over looks the square on top of the le carnot cafe .Max the owner was a wonderful host and very informative. The apartment is very stylish and very clean. It was lovely to watch the hussle and bussle over looking the square. It's in the perfect location to walk to the medieval castle which is well worth a visit and lovely restaurants and shops in the town.We are planning on returning for a Christmas weekend. I felt I needed another day as there is so much to see.We Highly Recommend this apartment.Thank you Max"

"This is the second time we’ve been to this restaurant, the visits were a year apart. We were 2 families (9 people in total) with 5 kids ranging in age from 14 3. The staff were very accommodating and pushed tables together so we...could all sit together unfortunately this meant that not everyone could sit in the shade. However, the delicious food more than made up for this. There are lots of places to eat in Carcassone and I suspect many of them are fairly similar but if you’re looking for somewhere with a good choice of food, including a kids menu, with friendly staff you could do worse than this one."
