"Never in fancy pastry shop, I bought some dinge to try and I was not disappointed! I was greeted by two of the sweetest, most pleasant young ladies, who had impeccable manage. “Yes, Ma’am”, “No, Ma’am” and “Thank you, Ma’am” rolled so easily from their tongues, I’m sure their mamas are quite proud of them. what the goodies I took after home, I can't even tell them what I liked best, but the apfelsitter I had tonight will surely be an breakfast book – I can hardly wait until tomorrow! I am so very happy that my friend (who comes from bryson city to buy cake) recommended to load this. I can see why they've been in operation since 1969. I am pleased to support a family business. the customer service makes the difference!"

"The family and I decided to go here for Easter instead of cooking this year for everyone. Big mistake. (This will be kind of long) Members of our party were arriving at slightly different times, 12 people total. My wife and her mother got there first. They refused to seat them at the two 6 people tables they had already put aside. They said that they had to wait for at least half the party to be there before they could be seated. I was literally about 10 minutes away at this point and her mother is oxygen dependent (had her machine on wheels with her waiting to be seated). Myself and my kids got there and we were able to be seated. They seated us in the center under the huge wicker fans. I almost slipped on the floor. At first, I thought there was water spilled on the floor but no, the floor was just that slippery for reasons unknown. We sat down and within 10 minutes of being there my 4 year old son was on the chair leaning on the table and the chair slipped out from under him because of the slick floor and slammed the back of his head on the floor. He wound up with a lump on the back of his head. Waitress was there when it happened and she wound up getting us ice for him. We watched him constantly deciding if we needed to take him to the ER. Then, as they brought the food out, the bugs came. Gnat like bugs started to invade. I included a pic of a bug on my napkin. I was trying to be discrete while taking the photos. This pic does not do it justice. They had what looked like little cups of wine in various places to try to lure the bugs and kill them. Table next to us got their food and sent it back because of this and they left. They must have had worse bugs with them. Food was sub par. I don't know what happened to this place but they used to be awesome. Now it is just bad. I do not recommend going to this place anytime soon, at least until they get rid of the bugs and maybe put a carpet down in the center where it is slick. I can't imagine what it is like if something does get spilled or if it's raining outside and people have wet shoes."
