"We last visited Le Matin about 2 years ago and really enjoyed our lunch there.So we headed back there during a short stopover in Paris and the banner hanging over their awning stating new owners had us a little concerned that the quality had changed, but we needn't have worried.We asked the new owner how long he had been the proprietor (2 weeks) and whether the same chef was there (he was).We arrived just before noon and managed to snap up a table right at the front just inside the door so had a great view over the passing parade without having to worry about smokers or traffic. Within 15 minutes the place was full of local office workers some of whom, quite rightly, got their orders just ahead of ours, the owner realising we were there for a long lunch whilst the workers had time restraints.We ordered the lunchtime menu from the blackboard, my wife having the pork chops and I took the fish.Well we both reckoned it was one of the best meals we had eaten this trip. My fish in particular had been steamed somehow in butter and was absolutely delicious and the pork too was grilled to perfection with those lovely small roast potatoes that seem to be a French speciality. Both dishes had a little pot of dressing based on blue cheese... yum!We finished with creme brulee and creme caramel, both delicious, and the total including 2 beers and a small pitcher of white wine came to just E36.So we agreed that the place is even better with the new owner."

"I go there often enough for lunch to taste their excellent sandwiches made with their homemade bread. I had the opportunity to taste the pastry and it's succulent! There are often people at noon, but it does not change the quality of service. for my friends from another country, if you don't want to eat a French sandwich, it's the best place to bet!"

"We called in for a coffee pastry mid-afternoon during a day of sight-seeing. My wife really enjoyed her Chaussons Aux Pommes, while I had a wonderful apricot pastry myself. The coffee was fine and our refreshment break at this cafe was pleasant, aided by...some pleasant and helpful staff who were most accepting of our attempts to speak Francais but most likely caused debauchery of this fine language."

"Absolutely brilliant. I moved to France in June but live in a small town where gf options are non existent. I visited Paris in November and you guys provided me with my first fresh French baguette experience. It was so good, I cried! To come here and eat without worry of trace elements and cross contamination was sheer heaven."
