"I had requested for a nice table as datum night and also mentioned in my booking, the dame at the reception seemed lost and led is straight to the it area. when asked we can sit on the bar and have cocktails, she said that is good, but they will not be served. they drink themselves. what was still good, could have been a bit more polite) cocktails were great and the bartender was very hospitable thanks for that. When I was asked for a Bar-Nibbles menu, I was asked to go from one person to the other only for a menu, then it was said that we can't find our menus probably ran from menus. the quality of the dishes that we had chicken keer extremely dry and served environment not hot), the crispy tint fish was like soggy-mursel of tinten fish in a teig without taste. sad to see this and not a happy customer."

"Pre booked a table of 4. On arrival the welcoming was non existent and the waiter half heartily pointed to an area to sit. Ordered our food and drink. The waiter misunderstood one of the drinks which is fine because it was swiftly corrected but at the end we were charged for the unwanted item that then had to be corrected. What became clear the place is badly managed. One of our guests wanted to sit comfortably on the chair without one of the fake furry rugs hanging over it. When asked what to do with it the guy hanging behind the bar using his laptop could barely have the effort to verbally assist. This was the second red flag during our visit. Whilst waiting for our food we noticed a line of staff admiring the food under the heat lamps. It appeared to look like our dishes. 10mins later the food remained unattended under the lamps no staff to be found. I decided to speak to the manager. I simply asked if the dishes were for our table because they had been waiting for a vast amount of time. After a few pressing buttons on the touch screen the manager admitted they were in deed for our table. The food was delivered however my fish batter was soggy probably from absorbing the moisture from the fish. I raised a complaint with the manager who swiftly took the plate away and within 3 5mins returned what appeared to have been the same piece of battered fish only refried and a darker toned batter. The fish now was dry, mushy peas cold and the chips warmish and hard. It appears there was little time to drain the oil from the fry as you’ll see in the photo. I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed because I had suggested booking this restaurant for the meal. In comparison to previous visits over the years this place has rapidly gone downhill. No excuse the inside was practically empty and half capacity outside with plenty of staff at hand with the exception of the guy doing his business on the laptop close to the customers table. With so much competition and high standards in the hospitality sector base on todays experience I will never use a Drake and Morgan venue for business or private. You can cheat on me once."

"The occasion was in remembrance of my dad's birthday he passed last year. I chose the EB because of its proximity to Liverpool St station, as one of my relatives was coming up from Essex and we wanted somewhere close by.We were there for the 'Brunch Menu' not necessarily my favourite choice for a meal, but I didn't look very carefully when I booked, but we decided to make the best of it.First up was the 'shared starters' six starters to share between three. It was a varied selection, ranging from a bananayoghurt mix, to chorizoflavoured arroncini, a ginsoaked smoked salmon salad, and another salad of avocado and quinoa. They were nicely prepared and tasted OK but, looking at the selection, you could almost hear the chef saying, "what else shall we give them...?"Onto the mains; my wife had the steak and my uncle had the breakfast fryup special; I ordered the pulled BBQ pork hash with potatoes. These mains went down very well, although the portion of the fryup special was a bit too large. My wife loved her steak no mean praise, as she is very picky when it comes to steak and I have to say that the pulled pork hash was one of the best I have ever tasted. The dessert was a selection of soso patisserie. The items we had were fine, but also nothing to write home about.Regarding staff and ambience, the waiters and waitresses were polite, friendly and efficient exemplary, in fact. There was a shift change in the middle of our meal, but you would never know; the handover was seamless, which is quite a feat.It is a nice venue, a bit echoey at times, and you were very aware that it is really a hotel with a restaurant tacked onto it.This was reinforced by the prices, which I thought quite steep; the wine was expensive considering we only drank a fairly mediocre Sauvignon Blanc. In summary, I thought that EB was a bit of a 'business expense account' venue. It didn't have a lot of charm and, although the staff were sweet, I won't be returning"
