"General/Ambiente As a subscriber to our local daily newspaper, there are vouchers for restaurants or reduced admission to various localities. Last time, a voucher for Restaurant Olympia in Hoyerswerda promised that for two people the cheaper main food is free. Of course, we and our friends would like to make use of these offers, and in our opinion the name has promised a Greek restaurant. So at GG searched for locality, visited website and not badly stunned. It was the speech of good-bourgeois cuisine. Are you trying? Reading? No, everything had its correctness, it is a restaurant that has been in this position since 1956. So the question to the boss, why this name? Explanation: When large residential colonies for brown coal mining were built in Hoyerswerda in the 50s and 60s, each residential complex received a number (WK 5 and also a name. WK VII received the last name “Freizeit Complex Ost” and the restaurant was baptized after leisure/sport in “Olympia”. This was similar in the other WK areas, and the respective restaurant was baptized accordingly, e.g. in the WK VI to the “cosmonauten” restaurant “Libelle”, in the WK IV, the musical district “Melodie”. The streets were named after musicians, cosmonauts and the like. The “Olympia” is located a bit from the city centre of Hoyerswerda directly on a small park and, like the whole city, built in plate building. The interior is rustic, with many small and larger, separate seating niches. In the outdoor area there is a large covered beer garden, decorated with all kinds of flower bowls. Inside and outside you sit very cozy. We were fled by a young gentleman (the son of the boss, who is always very friendly, and engaged in the welfare of his guests. For the selection of drinks he gave us time to surf the map. The ordering of the drinks and the food from the very extensive menu list was then carried out together, as the service had to do well in the fully equipped beer garden. The ordered drinks Wittichenauer Pilsner for the gentlemen and wine choir for the ladies came fast, the appetizers came after a pleasant waiting period, the main dishes were served together after about half an hour. Beautiful gesture of the house, we wanted an “Ossenkamp” as perseverance, but unfortunately there was only one “taste”. Our regret seems to have felt at the boss, and so we were divided into four of us each with a small swallow (about 2 cl of the last “Ossenkamp” due to the house. Very good and friendly service. Food A very extensive map with regional products, wild, fish and also tried in Chinese. The prices of the dishes are between €6 and €15, which I think is very reasonable We decided as an appetizer for a Wan Tan soup a ́ 3,60 € and Soljanka a ́ 2,80 €. The plate or cups were properly filled. The Wan Tan soup was made with lots of vegetables and mullets and four dough dishes with minced meat filling and spring onions. The sauce tasted me personally to sesame oil, otherwise it was slightly sharp and sufficient. The Soljanka was plentiful with sausage and acidic cucumber, the sauce beautifully thickened, only the saw had broken. As a main dish we chose two rustic pork fillets served on a pot with roasted onions, mushrooms, a juicy sauce, a colorful salad and potato croquettes a ́ 12,95 €, a wild boar with burgundy sauce, cream rose cabbage and homemade Spätzle a ́ 13,80 € as well as pork medallions in a fine potato case roasted The ladies actually wanted to eat a salad plate as an appetizer, but the service stopped because the portions were sufficiently large, which ultimately confirmed. The pork fillets with onions were, in my opinion, somewhat too long in the pan, the sauce a little salty, the salad tasty, the croquettes normal Convienceware. The slices from the wild boar were delicate, the rose cabbage crisp, the late zle buttersoft. Here, too, the rose cabbage was TK goods. The pork medal with cheese coat was also delicate and tasty, the potato bag ok, but also here Convience. Overall, food was good and ok for this price. Overall we reacted with additional few beers and two regrets € 82.00. Cleanliness The restaurant and the beer garden tip clean, the toilets also good and there is nothing to complain about.
