"My husband and I stopped here for lunch while touring on our motorcycle. There were not a lot of choices in the area so detoured off the main road to Northport. This little restaurant is on a pier. There isn't much to do except eat here. It might have had shops at one time but there really aren't any left even though there is a huge sign that says there are shops. I had the PEI mussels and they were good, my husband had the pulled pork sandwich which he liked. Service was good. I wasn't bowled over by the place. Had a nice view of the water and a lighthouse. I would go someplace else in the area next time. Probably closer to town of Alberton."

"This is lovely restaurant for both take-out and an in-dining experience. With a warm and pleasant atmosphere, a tastefully and artfully decorated environment, delicious authentic cuisine, tasty fun cocktails, and surprisingly affordable prices, what is not to love? I'll tell you... It's the restroom. That is the only part of the restaurant that gives it away as not entirely upper-class. If not for that, I would have given The Classic India five stars. I had the vegetarian platter, and I didn't know what most of the food on the platter was, but enjoyed every bite. The cocktails are also great! I can't wait to go back and work my way through every item on the page and a half of vegetarian options."

"We don't live near Alberton at all and it was recommended by friends. We decided to try it since we were coming from Vereeniging. We were very pleased with the food and the AWESOME service from our waiter. Due to the amount of food we ordered and we wanted it at the same time, he moved us to a bigger table to accommodate that and he brought me an extra takeaway box for some leftover breads that I wanted for my dogs. As for the food, it was proper authentic Portuguese taste and flavours. For starters, we ordered giblets, clams and tripe. It was so delicious that I was drinking the sauces. For mains, we ordered the crab curry, the espetada and rabbit. It was just as good and they made a yummy white sauce for their vegetables servings (not your typical roasted veggies or butternut/creamed spinach). The beef espetada had a buttery, smoked marinade on it and they cooked to our perfection (medium rare) My husband enjoyed the traditional Portuguese dessert, molotof, I had a dom pedro and my son had the Ola Magnum Almond ice-cream which the waiter put on a plate with a serviette which it was a nice touch. Overall, a good meal and we will definitely return. The only expensive meal on our bill was the crab curry which is very normal to pay for shellfish."
